Հայաստանի թատերական գործիչների միությունը և Գ. Սունդուկյանի անվան ազգային ակադեմիական թատրոնը խոր վշտով տեղեկացնում են, որ վախճանվեց ազգային թատրոնի և կինոյի անվանի վարպետներից մեկը՝ ՀՀ վաստակավոր արտիստ Կարեն Ջանգիրովը:
Կյանքից հեռացավ սկզբունքային ու ազնիվ արվեստագետը, տաղանդավոր անհատականությունը:
Ծնվել է 1948թ. մարտի 15-ին, Բաքվում: 1971թ. ավարտել է Երևանի գեղարվեստա-թատերական ինստիտուտի ռեժիսորական բաժինը՝ պրոֆեսոր Ռաֆայել Ջրբաշյանի արվեստանոցը: 1982թ-ից աշխատում է Երևանի Սունդուկյանի անվան ազգային ակադեմիական թատրոնում: Խաղացել է բազմաթիվ թատերական դերեր' Բերանժե' «Թագավորը մահանում է», Անցորդ' «Բալենու այգի», Բազիլ' «Ֆիգարոյի ամուսնությունը», Սերեբրյակով' «Քեռի Վանյա», Վիրտուոզ' «Ավտոբուս», Ալֆրեդ Իլ' «Ծեր տիկնոջ այցը» և այլն: Արժանացել է բազմաթիվ պատվոգրերի, մրցանակների' «Լավագույն դերասան» և այլն: 1972թ-ից նկարահանվել է ֆիլմերում' «Վերադարձ», «Քաոս», «Մարդը Օլիմպոսից», «Ռայկոմի քարտուղարը», «Արևիկ», «Երջանկության մեխանիկա», «Հրդեհ», «Խնձորի այգի», «Անապատ», «Ուր էիր, մարդ Աստծո», «Ոտքի, դատարանն է գալիս», «Ճանապարհորդություն» և այլն: 1975թ. «Մարդը Օլիմպոսից» ֆիլմում Հրանտի դերակատարման համար Կույբիշևի համամիութենական կինոփառատոնում և 1989թ. «Ավտոբուս» ֆիլմում Վիրտուոզի դերակատարման համար Սոֆիայի միջազգային թատերական փառատոնում արժանացել է «Տղամարդու լավագույն դերակատարման համար» մրցանակների: 1993թ. արժանացել է Ստանիսլավսկու և Վախթանգովի ֆոնդի գլխավոր մրցանակի, 2008թ.' ՀՀ վաստակավոր արտիստի կոչմանը: Աշխատել է Երևանի Դրամատիկական, Փոսի թատրոններում, նկարահանվել բազմաթիվ ֆիլմերում՝ հաստատելով ինտելեկտուալ դերասանի տեսակը, բեմ բերել առինքնող բեմական կերպարներ: Նրա Միքայելը «Քաոս» ֆիլմում մեր կինոյի նվաճումներից է:
