Սիրիայի մայրաքաղաք Դամասկոսի հարավում գտնվող պաղեստինցի փախստականների Յարմուք ճամբարում շարունակում են շրջափակված մնալ 18 հազար պաղեստինցիներ: Ինչպես հաղորդում են արաբական լրատվամիջոցները, այս մասին նշել է ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Պան Կի Մունն ապրիլի 9-ին կայացած մամուլի ասուլիսի ժամանակ՝ ավելացնելով, որ լուրեր են շրջանառվում ճամբարի վրա հարձակում գործելու մասին:

«Մենք չենք կարող կանգնել մի կողմում և նայել, թե ինչպես են մեր աչքի առջև իրականացվում սպանությունները: Ճամբարի բնակիչները չպետք է թողնվեն բախտի քմահաճույքին»,- նշել է նա՝ ավելացնելով, որ ճամբարի բնակչությունը պաշտպանության կարիք ունի և չպետք է նրանց այդ վիճակում թողնել:

ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղարը միջազգային հանրությունից պահանջել է մարդասիրական օգնություն տրամադրել ճամբարի բնակիչներին, որտեղ ավելի քան 3500 երեխաներ կան: «Զանգվածային հարձակումը ճամբարի վրա կլինի ռազմական հանցագործություն»,- շեշտել է Պան Կի Մունը: Նա կրկին բացառել է սիրիական ճգնաժամի ռազմական ճանապարհով լուծումը՝ պահանջելով քաղաքական երկխոսության միջոցով լուծման տարբերակը:

Ավելի վաղ՝ ապրիլի 1-ին, «Իսլամական պետությունը» «Ջաբհա ան Նուսրա» խմբավորման հետ համագործակցության արդյունքում, ներխուժել էր Դամասկոսի մերձակայքում գտնվող պաղեստինցի փախստականների ճամբար՝ սկսելով ավերել ու թալանել շինությունները: Ահաբեկիչներն այնտեղ մուտք են գործել Հաջր ալ Ասուադ շրջանից: Այժմ ճամբարի մեծ մասը գտնվում է ահաբեկիչների հսկողության տակ: Բնակիչներից որոշներին հաջողվել է փախուստի դիմել՝ հաստատվելով ավելի անվտանգ վայրերում: Սիրիայի ազգային հաշտեցման հարցերով զբաղվող նախարար Ալի Հեյդարը հայտարարել է, որ ճամբարի ազատագրման համար անհրաժեշտ է հակաահաբեկչական գործողություններ սկսել՝ ավելացնելով, որ սիրիական պետությունն այլ տարբերակ չունի:
