Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցին Միացյալ Նահանգների հայությունը նախագահ Բարաք Օբամայից ակնկալում է Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչում:Այս մասին նշվում է ամերիկյան Los Angeles Times օրաթերթի էլեկտրոնային տարբերակում: Լրատվամիջոցը գրում է, որ ամեն տարի ապրիլի 24-ին նախորդող օրերին Հայկական հարցի պաշտպաններն ԱՄՆ-ում արշավ են սկսում՝ հորդորելով Բարաք Օբամային ամենամյա ելույթում 1.5 մլն հայերի կոտորածը նկարագրելիս օգտագործել «ցեղասպանություն» բառը: Սակայն ամեն տարի, չնայած իր տված նախընտրական խոստումին, ԱՄՆ նախագահը խուսափում է այդ եզրն օգտագործելուց:

«Շատ ամերիկահայեր հույս ունեն, որ այս տարին բեկումնային կլինի, և ԱՄՆ նախագահը կխախտի այդ «ավանդույթը»: Լրանում է Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցը: Այն համընկել է նաև նախագահ Օբամայի նախագահության մայրամուտի հետ, որի ընթացքում ԱՄՆ ղեկավարը մեծ խիզախություն է ցուցաբերել սկզբունքային հարցերում»,- գրում է Los Angeles Times-ը:

Նշվում է, որ թեև Հայոց ցեղասպանության իրողությունը լայնորեն ապացուցված փաստ է, տարբեր ժամանակներում ԱՄՆ նախագահների վարչակազմերը և կոնգրեսականները չեն ցանկացել ճանաչել այն՝ իրենց ռազմավարական դաշնակից Թուրքիային չհիասթափեցնելու համար: «Ժամանակն է, որպեսզի նա ոչ միայն կատարի իր խոստումը, այլ նաև դա անելով, օգնի կանխարգելելու ապագա ցեղասպանությունները»,- ըստ պարբերականի՝ նշում են ամերիկահայերը:
