Վատիկանի Սուրբ Պետրոսի տաճարում մեկնարկեց Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցին նվիրված պատարագը, որը մատուցում է Հռոմի Ֆրանցիոսկոս պապը: Սա պատմական իրադարձություն է, քանի որ առաջին անգամ կաթոլիկ եկեղեցու առաջնորդը պատարագ է մատուցում՝ հիշատակելով Ցեղասպանությունը:

«Մեզ համար շատ կարևոր է, որ վաղը Հայոց ցեղասպանության նահատակների համար Սուրբ Պետրոսի տաճարում առ Աստված աղոթք կբարձրացնի Կաթոլիկ աշխարհի առաջնորդ Հռոմի Պապ Ֆրանցիսկոսը։ Խորապես շնորհակալ ենք Նորին Սրբություն Ֆրանցիսկոս Պապին այս աննախադեպ պատարագի գաղափարի համար, որը տեղի է ունենում մեր Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցու կողմից Ցեղասպանության զոհերի սրբադասվելուց երկու շաբաթ առաջ՝ դրանով իսկ խորհրդանշելով քրիստոնյա աշխարհի համերաշխությունը մեր ժողովրդի հետ»,- ասել է Հայաստանի Հանրապետության Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը՝ նախօրեին կայացած ընդունելության ժամանակ:

Պատարագին ներկա են ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը, Ամենայն Հայոց Գարեգին Բ կաթողիկոսը, Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիո Արամ Ա կաթողիկոսը, ինչպես նաև հայ կաթոլիկների պատրիարք Ներսես Պետրոս XIX-ը: Պատարագը նախաձեռնել է Հռոմի Ֆրանցիսկոս պապը:

Ապրիլի 10-ին Հռոմ ժամանած լրագրողներին ներկայացնելով սպասվող պատմական իրադարձության մանրամասները՝ Սուրբ Աթոռում ՀՀ արտակագ և լիազոր դեսպան Միքայել Մինասյանը տեղեկացրել էր, որ մատուցվելիք պատարագի ավարտին նախատեսված են նաև Ամենայն Հայոց Գարեգին Բ և Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիո Արամ Ա կաթողիկոսների ելույթները:

«Սուրբ Պետրոսի տաճարում այս պատարագն աննախադեպ է մի քանի առումով. բացի վերը նշածներիցս, կարևոր է նաև առանձնացնել, որ տեղի կունենա հայկական մեռելոցի ծիսական կարգ: Պատարագը նվիրված է Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցին, սակայն այն մատուցվում է աշխարհի բոլոր հայերի համար»,-ասել էր դեսպանը:

Պատարագի ավարտին կլինի նաև Գրիգոր Նարեկացու վարդապետացման կարգ: «Կհնչի լատիներեն ֆորմուլան և Նարեկացին կհայտարարվի Տիեզերական եկեղեցու վարդապետ»,-ասել էր Միքայել Մինասյանը:

Նախատեսվում է, որ պատարագից հետո Հռոմի պապը կմոտենա ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանին (սովորաբար, պատարագը վերջացնելուց հետո Պապը դուրս է գալիս տաճարից):
