Ադրբեջանական կողմը հերթական անգամ խախտում է Ժնևյան կոնվենցիայի այն կետերը, որոնք վերաբերում են պատահական սահմանը հատած, գերի ընկած քաղաքացիներին, սահմանում են, որ չպետք է կիրառվի որևէ ճնշում գերի ընկած անձի նկատմամբ, մինչև անգամ հրապարակային ելույթ չպետք է պարտադրվի նրան: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հերթական անգամ ադրբեջանական Anspress գործակալությունը, անտեսելով գերիների մասին Ժնևյան կոնվենցիայի դրույթները, հարցազրույց է վերցրել Ադրբեջանի պաշտպանության նախարարության հոսպիտալ տեղափոխված, հայ-ադրբեջանական սահմանը հատած Սարգիս Անանյանի հետ և հրապարակել է դրա տեսանյութը:
Տեսանյութում ներկայացված է, թե ինչպես է հայ գերին պատմում այն մասին, թե իբր մտադրված է անցել սահմանը և հանձնվել ադրբեջանական կողմին: Անանյանի խոսքով' նա նման քայլի է դիմել «նյութական վատ դրության պատճառով»: Հայ գերին պատմել է, որ ունի երկու որդի, որոնք աշխատանքի նպատակով Նոյեմբերյանից տեղափոխվել են Երևան և Ռուսաստան: Նա միայն ցանկություն է հայտնել կապվել որդիների հետ' ասելով, իբր, «կվերադառնա Հայաստան միայն այն ժամանակ, երբ երկրում բարելավվի տնտեսական վիճակը»: Ըստ ադրբեջանական լրատվամիջոցի հրապարակած տեսանյութի' Անանյանը, ով ունի խնիրներ ոտքի հետ կապված, «ՊՆ հոսպիտալում խնամքի տակ է»:
Տավուշի մարզի Նոյեմբերյան քաղաքի բնակիչ, 1961թ. ծնված Սարգիս Նորիկի Անանյանը հատել է հայ-ադրբեջանական սահմանն ու հայտնվել Ղազախ գյուղում: Ադրբեջանական կողմը պնդում է, որ Սարգիս Անանյանը հայ-ադրբեջանական սահմանը հատել է օգոստոսի 26-ին:
