Հազարավոր հայեր են սպանվել, և սա մարդկության պատմության մասն է: Ոչ ոք որևէ օգուտ չունի Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ժխտելուց: Այս մասին թուրքական «Դողան» գործակալությանը տված հարցազրույցում հայտնել է Եվրոպայի խորհրդարանի փոխնախագահ Անտոնիո Տայանին` անդրադառնալով ապրիլի 15-ին ԵԽ-ում Հայոց ցեղասպանության մասին քննարկման դրվելիք բանաձևին:

«Ցեղասպանությունը ցեղասպանություն է: Եղածն արդեն եղած է: Հասկանում ենք, որ հարցը Թուրքիայի համար շատ զգայուն է: Սակայն մենք էլ, որպես Եվրոպա, մշտապես պայքարում ենք մարդու իրավունքները, մարդկային արժանապատվությունը պաշտպանելու համար և դա մեր հիմնական սկզբունքներից, առաջնահերթություններից մեկն է: Այսինքն, մենք դա Թուրքիայի դեմ չենք անում: Հրեաների ցեղասպանության ժամանակ է էլ նույն դիրքորոշումն ենք ցուցաբերել: Սա մեր պատմությունն է: Հազարավոր հայեր են սպանվել, և սա մարդկության պատմության մասն է: Ոչ ոք որևէ օգուտ չունի Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ժխտելուց»,-  ասել է Տայանին: Հիշեցնելով, որ շատ հայեր են գաղթել Եվրոպա` նա նշել է, որ բոլոր հայերն իրենց քաղաքացիներն են, այդ պատճառով ԵԽ-ն այդքան մտահոգվում է նրանց համար: «Քննարվելիք բանաձևն աշխարհին «Այլևս թող ցեղասպանություններ չլինեն» ուղերձը հղելու, մարդկանց սպանելուն դեմ լինելու համար է: Եթե սա միայն Թուրքիայի դեպքում արած լինեինք, ապա կարող էիք ասել. «Դուք Թուրքիայի դեմ եք»: Սակայն եթե նույնն աներ Բուլղարիան կամ Չինաստանը, նույն արձագանքը կտայինք: Սա անում ենք մեր արժեքները պահպանելու համար»,- ընդգծել է ԵԽ փոխնախագահը: Նշելով, որ Ցեղասպանությունը տեղի է ունեցել մեկ դար առաջ` նա փաստել է, որ ինչպես շատ երկրներ, այնպես էլ Թուրքիան անցյալում սխալներ է գործել:

«Եթե երկիրը Ցեղասպանությունը ճանաչի, Թուրքիայի կարևորությունը չի պակասի: Իտալիան էլ, Գերմանիան էլ ընդունել են անցյալում իրենց գործած սխալները: Եթե ես ասեմ, որ Իտալիան սխալ է գործել, դա չի նշանակում, որ ես իմ երկրի դեմ եմ»,- ասել է իտալացի քաղաքական գործիչը` հավելելով, որ իրենք Թուրքիայի թշնամին չեն և քննարկվելիք բանաձևով քննադատում են ոչ թե ներկայիս, այլ անցյալի Թուրքիային:

Անդրադառնալով խնդիրը պատմաբաններին թողնելու թուրքական թեզին` Տայանին իրավամբ փաստել է, որ «եթե պատմաբաններին մնար, ուրեմն չէր լինի նաև հրեաների Հոլոքոստը: «Ժխտումը որևէ օգուտ չի կարող բերել: Կարծում եմ, որ այսօրվա Թուրքիան պետք է ընդունի իր անցյալում տեղի ունեցածը»,- ասել է ԵԽ փոխնախագահը:
