ԱՄՆ Նևադա նահանգի օրենսդիր մարմինը ճանաչել է Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը

ԱՄՆ Նևադա նահանգի խորհրդարանի երկու պալատներն ապրիլի 14-ին ընդունել են Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ճանաչող բանաձև: Ինչպես հաղորդում է Հայաստանի Հանրային հեռուստաընկերությունը, բանաձևում արձանագրվում է 20-րդ դարի առաջին ցեղասպանությունն իբրև պատմ ական եղելություն և ընդգծվում այն դատապարտելու անհրաժեշտությունը:

Նահանգի խորհրդարանականները նաև կոչ են ուղղում ԱՄՆ նախագահին և Կոնգրեսին հետևել իրենց օրինակին և Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցին փաստերը կոչել իրենց անուններով: «Մենք այսօր անդրադառնում ենք դեպքերի, որ տեղի են ունեցել 100 տարի առաջ այս օրերին աշխարհի մեկ այլ անկյունում: Մի քանի օրից լրանում է Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցը: 1915 թվականին թուրքական կառավարությունը ուժ և բռնություն գործադրելով տնազրկեց հայերին, մի մասին ձերբակալեց, մի մասին էլ ուղարկեց անապատˋ դատապարտելով անխուսափելի մահվան: Այդ ամենի հետևանքով նահատակվեց 1. 5 մլն հայ»,- ասել է նահանգային խորհրդարանի անդամ Ջեյմս Օսկարսոնը: Կոնգրեսականը շեշտել է, որ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը նաև ԱՄՆ պատմության մասն էˋ պատմական ակնարկով ներկայացնելով ԱՄՆ նախկին նախագահ Վուդրո Վիլսոնի հանձնարարությամբ Մերձավոր Արևելքի օգնության հիմնադրամի ստեղծման և գործունեության պատմությունը:

Նևադայի հայ համայնքի ներկայացուցիչ Վարդան Բարսումյանը կարծիք է հայտնել, որ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ոչ միայն պետք է ճանաչվի այլ ընդգրկվի նահանգի կրթական ծրագրերում: «Սա մի աշխատանք է, որ տարվում է տարբեր մասնաճյուղերի կողմից: Նևադայի հայ համայնքը Հայ դատի հանձնախմբի հետ շատ աշխատել է, որպեսզի կարողանանք սա իրականացնել»,- ասել է Հայ դատի հանձնախմբի ԱՄՆ Արևմտյան ափի գրասենյակի պատասխանատու Էլեն Ասատրյանը:

2015 թվականի ապրիլի 1-ին ԱՄՆ-ի Նևադա նահանգի նահանգապետ Բրայեն Սանդովալը Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցի առնչությամբ հռչակագիր է ստորագրել, որի համաձայն ապրիլի 19-26-ը Նևադայում հայտարարվել է Հայոց ցեղասպանության զոհերի հիշատակի շաբաթ: Նույնաբովանդակ հռչակագրով էր հանդես եկել նաև Նևադայի փոխնահանգապետ, Նահանգային սենատի նախագահ Մարկ Հաթչիսոնը: Երկու հռչակագրերում ԱՄՆ նախագահին և Կոնգրեսին կոչ է արվում ճանաչել հայ ժողովրդի նկատմամբ իրականացված վայրագությունները: Թուրքիային կոչ է արվում ճանաչել պատմական փաստերը:

Դեռևս 2000 թվականին Նևադայի նահանգապետ Քենի Գուինը նույնպես հռչակագիր էր ընդունելˋ նվիրված Հայոց ցեղասպանության 85-րդ տարելիցին:
