Թուրքիայի վարչապետ Ահմեդ Դավութօղլուն անձամբ դիմել է Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելին` փորձելով ճնշում գործադրել և կանխել Բունդեսթագում ներկայացված բանաձևում «ցեղասպանությունը» բառի գործածումը:

Այս մասին հայտնում է Գերմանիայի ամենախոշոր Die Welt օրաթերթը: Լրատվամիջոցի հաղորդմամբ, ապրիլի 21-ի ցերեկը երկու երկրների առաջնորդները հեռախոսազրույց են ունեցել այս հարցի վերաբերյալ: Դավութօղլուն նշել է, իբր  1915  թվականի դեպքերի համար «ցեղասպանություն» բառի կիրառումն անընդունելի է, քանի որ այս բառը միջազգային օրենքում հայտնվել է Երկրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմից հետո:

Ապրիլի 24-ին Գերմանիայի խորհրդարանում քվերակության կդրվի ամենախոշոր խմբակցությունների առաջադրած բանաձևը, որում նշվում է. «Մեկ միլիոնից ավելի էթնիկ հայերի ծրագրված բնաջնջումը և արտաքսումը 20-րդ դարում իրականացված զանգվածային բնաջնջման, էթնիկ զտումների, արտաքսումների և ցեղասպանության օրինակ է»:Դաշնային կառավարությունը դիվանագիտական նկատառումների ելենելով սկզբում խուսափում էր «ցեղասպանություն» բառն օգտագործելուց:Գերմանիայի դիրքորոշման մեջ շրջադարձ տեղի ունեցավ ապրիլի 20-ին` Գերմանիայի Դաշնության արտաքին գործերի նախարար Ֆրանկ-Վալտեր Շտայնմայերի և կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելի խոսնակ Շտեֆան Զայբերթի հայտարարություններից հետո: Գերմանական և միջազգային լրատվամիջոցները նաև տեսակետ են հայտնում, որ ապրիլի 23-ին Բեռլինի Մայր տաճարում կայանալիք Հայոց ցեղասպանության հիշատակի արարողությանը Գերմանիայի Դաշնության Նախագահ Յոահիմ Գաուկն իր ելույթում նույնպես կարտասանի «ցեղասպանություն» եզրույթը:Ապրիլի 24-ին, Գերմանիայի ժամանակով առավոտյան ժամը 9-ին հենց Հայոց ցեղասպանության հարցի քննարկմամբ էլ սկսվելու է լիագումար նիստը:

Քննարկմանը հատկացվելու է մեկ ժամ, որի ընթացում 3 զեկույցով են հանդես գալու Գերմանիայի խորհրդարանի ամենախոշոր խմաբկցությունները` Քրիստոնեադեմոկրատական միությունը (ՔԴՄ)/Քրիստոնեասոցիալիստական միությունը(ՔՍՄ), Գերմանիայի սոցիալ-դեմոկրատական կուսակցությունը և Ձախակողմյանների կուսակցությունը: Դրանից հետո քվեարկության է դրվելու բանաձևի նախագիծն` արդեն «ցեղասպանություն» եզրույթով ու հիմնավորմամբ, թե որ կոնվենցիայի որ կետով են օսմանյան Թուրքիայում տեղի ունեցած ջարդերը ենթակա կոչվելու «ցեղասպանություն»:
