Ստամբուլի Սուլթանահմեդ հրապարակում մեծ թվով թուրքեր, տեղի և արտասահմանից ժամանած հայեր հավաքվել են և Թուրքիայից պահանջում են` ճանաչել Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը, ներողություն խնդրել և փոխհատուցում տալ:

Թուրքիայի մարդու իրավունքների կազմակերպության նախաձեռնությամբ հավաքը տեղի է ունեցել այն վայրում, որտեղ մահվան երթին ուղարկելուց առաջ բանտարկված են պահել հայ մտավորականներին: «Արմենպրես»-ի թղթակցի փոխանցմամբ, կազմակերպիչները նշեցին, որ թեպետ իրենց ընտանիքներում չկան այնպիսիք, ովքեր սպանել են հայերի, սակայն իրենք ցեղասպանության հանցագործների թոռներն են, ովքեր իրենց ուսերին են զգում կատարվածի ողջ ամոթը և բարոյական պատասխանատվությունը: «Մեր հստակ պահանջը ցեղասպանության ճանաչումը, ներողությունը և հատուցումն է: Այս հին շենքը Իբրահիմ փաշային պալատն է եղել, որը ցեղասպանության ժամանակ դարձել է պոլսահայ մտավորականների համար բանտ: «Իթթիհաթ Վե թերաքի» (Միություն և առաջադիմություն) կուսակցությունը վերջ տվեց հայկական գոյությանը, հափշտակեցին հայերի ունեցվածքը, գույքը, հիշողությունը: Մայր հայրենիքից մի քաղաքակրթություն սրբվելով ոչնչացվեց, թեև չհաջողվեց ամբողջովին վերացնել»,-նշեց «Ոչ ժխտողականությանը» հարթակի ներկայացուցիչը, ով հավելեց նաև, որ ցեղասպանության տարիներին նույն ճակատագրին արժանացան նաև երկրի ոչ մահմեդ ական մյուս բնակիչները` հույները, ասորիները: Հավաքվածները նշեցին, որ Թուրքիայի հանրապետության ստեղծումից հետո երկրի թիրախը դարձան քրդերը, ովքեր ևս իրենց դերակատարությունն էին ունեցել ցեղասպանության իրագործման մեջ:

Նրանք ևս մեկ անգամ կոչ արեցին Թուրքիային ճանաչել ցեղասպանությունը և ներուղություն խնդրել հայերից: «Շիրմաքար չունեցող հայերը միայն այսպես կարող են հանգիստ հանգչել»,-նշեցին նրանք: Սուլթանահմեդ հրապարակում մեկ առ մեկ հնչեցվեցին բոլոր այն քաղաքների և գյուղերի անունները, որտեղ հայերը ենթարկվել են ցեղասպանության: Մասնակիցները քայլեցին դեպի Հայդար փաշայի կայարան, որտեղից 100 տարի առաջ պոլսահայ մտավորականները աքսորվեցին դեպի արևելք:

ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սագսյանը Ծիծեռնակաբերդում ելույթում շնորհակալություն հայտնեց Ստամբուլի Թաքսիմ հրապարակում հավաքվածներին. «նրանք ուժեղ մարդիկ են և ճիշտ գործ են անում իրենց հայրենիքի համար»:
