Շուտով ԱՄՆ-ում կսկսվի սուր ներքաղաքական պայքարը՝ նախագահի աթոռի համար ու այս պահի դրությամբ ցավով պետք է արձանագրեմ, որ ամենահավանական հաղթողը նախագահական ընտրություններում Հիլարի Քլինթոնն է։ Դե սևամորթ նախագահ ունեցան, հիմա պետք է շարունակեն կոտրել կարծրատիպերը ու առաջին կին նախագահին էլ ունենան։

Մինչդեռ աշխարհի ու այդ թվում նաև Հայաստանի համար խիստ անցանկալի է, որպեսզի ԱՄՆ հերթական նախագահը լինի Դեմոկրատական կուսակցությունից՝ առհասարակ ու լինի Հիլարի Քլինթոնը՝ մասնավորապես։ Մենք արդեն տեսանք, թե ինչ աղետալի հետևանքներ ունեցան դեմոկրատների իշխանությունները աշխարհի ու հատկապես հետխորհրդային տարածաշրջանի համար և սա դեռ միայն ծաղիկներն են, իսկ եթե նախագահ դառնա այդ վհուկը, մենք արդեն լիարժեք պտուղղները կարող ենք տեսնել։

Չխորանալով ԱՄՆ ներքաղաքական ու կլանային առանձնահատկությունների մեջ, ուզում եմ այնուամենայնիվ մեր՝ հայերիս համար ակտուալ շեշտադրում անել։ Ակնհայտ է, որ ՔԼինթոնը ևս փորձելու է մեր հայկական համայնքի գլուխը արդուկել ու խոստանալ «Ցեղասպանություն» բառն արտասանել ու հույսով եմ, որ Ամերիկայում բնակվող մեր հայրենակիցները գոնե այս անգամ հեռատես կլինեն ու չեն կուլ տա այդ խայծը, որովհետև ի տարբերություն մինչ այս եղած այլ նախագահական թեկնածուների, Հիլարի Քլինթոնը դեռ նախագահ չդառած, արդեն ապացուցել է, որ ինքը երբեք չի արտասանի այդ բառը՝ 2008-ի նախագահականում պարտվելուց հետո, պետքարտուղարի պաաշտոնում անգամ ամեն գնով խուսափելով դրանից։

Այստեղ հարցը ոչ այնքան այդ բառի արտասանության կարևորությունն է, որովհետև իմ համեստ կարծիքով, դա իրականում ամենևին էլ էական մի բան չէ, այլ այն, որ գոնե այս անգամ պետք է մեր համայնքը ցույց տա, որ մենք այլևս հասունացել ենք ու նման էժանագին խայծեր չենք կուլ տալու և թույլ չենք տալու հերթական անգամ խաղան մեր հիշողության ու պատմական պահանջների հետ։ Այնպես որ, կոչ կանեի ամերիկահայերին գրողի ծոցն ուղարկել ստաահակ Քլինթոնին էլ, այդ հարցը նախընտրական խոստում դարձնող ցանկացած այլ թեկնածուի էլ։
