Ծաղկաձորում ավարտված Շախմատի աշխարհի թիմային առաջնության գլխավոր մրցավար Աշոտ Վարդապետյանի կարծիքով՝ աշխարհի առաջնությունն ամենալարվածներից մեկն էր:

«Զրուցելով շախմատիստների հետ՝ եկանք այն եզրակացության, որ առաջնությունը շատ լարված անցավ, թիմերը շատ հավասար կազմեր ունեին, նույնիսկ երբեմն դժվար էր կանխագուշակել որոշ պարտիաների արդյունքները: Այս հետաքրքիր պայքարը ունեցավ իր տրամաբանական հավարտը՝ հաղթեց այս պահին ուժեղագույնը»,- լրագրողների հետ զրույցում ասաց Վարդապետյանը:

«Հայաստանի հավաքականն իր պարտիաներով ցույց է տվել, որ կամաց-կամաց է թափ հավաքում նմանատիպ մրցաշարերում: Այստեղ միայն 9 խաղափուլ էր, և կարծես մի քիչ չբավարարեց ցանկալի արդյունքի հասնելու համար: Այս երրորդ տեղը բավականին լավ արդյունք է, որով մեր տղաները ևս մի պայծառ տող գրեցին հայկական շախմատի պատմության մեջ»,- եզրափակեց նա:

Շախմատի աշխարհի հոբելյանական առաջնության չեմպիոն դարձավ Չինաստանի հավաքականը՝ 15 միավորով: Ուկրաինան երկրորդն էր՝ 12 միավորով, իսկ Հայաստանի հավաքականը՝ երրորդը: Այս տարվա մրցաշարը բացառիկ էր. առաջին անգամ աշխարհի թիմային առաջնությունների պատմության ընթացքում մասնակից 50 շախմատիստներից 49-ը կրում էին գրոսմայստերի կոչում: Այս ցուցանիշը եզակի է շախմատային մրցաշարերի տարեգրության մեջ: Հայաստանն այն երկիրն է, որին արդեն երկրորդ անգամն է բախտ վիճակվում կազմակերպելու աշխարհի թիմային առաջնությունը: Հայաստանը մինչ այժմ մեկ անգամ հռչակվել է աշխարհի թիմային առաջնության չեմպիոն, երեք անգամ` բրոնզե մեդալակիր:
