««Գազպրոմ» ընկերության վարչության նախագահ Ալեքսեյ Միլլերի նախօրեի հայտարարությունը, թե Հայաստանին մատակարարվող գազի գինը կնվազի 25 դոլարով և 1000 խմ-ի դիմաց կկազմի 165 դոլար, դարձել է հայ-ռուսական հարաբերությունների ու Եվրասիական տնտեսական միության գովաբանության քարոզչական հիթ: Արդեն երկու օր է՝ Հայաստանի իշխանական գործիչները, իրար հերթ չտալով, հայտարարում են, թե ինչպիսի դրական քայլ է կատարվել ռուսական կողմից, ինչի արդյունքում հայ սպառողների համար գազի գինը չի բարձրանա: Ոչ թե կնվազի, այլ չի բարձրանա:

Այն դեպքում, երբ Եվրասիական տնտեսական միությանն անդամակցելիս նույն հայ պաշտոնյաները հպարտորեն հայտարարում էին, թե դրա արդյունքում առնվազն առաջիկա 5 տարիներին Հայաստանին մատակարարվող գազի գինը չի փոփոխվի: Գազի գնի հարցում Ռուսաստանի վարած քաղաքականությունը Հայաստանի նկատմամբ Ռուսաստանի ընդհանուր վերաբերմունքի առանձին դրսևորումներից մեկն է: Իսկ այդ վերաբերմունքի կամ քաղաքականության հիմքում ընկած է «կարող էր նաև ավելի վատ լինել» բանաձևը: Դրա համար էլ ամիսներ շարունակ Հայաստանում քննարկվում էր գազի հնարավոր թանկացման հարցը, որպեսզի մի գեղեցիկ օր «Գազպրոմի» նախագահը հայտարարի, որ թանկացում չի լինելու: Որքան զարմանալի, նույնքան էլ հասկանալի է, որ այդ «ավետիսը» չհայտնեց հայ պաշտոնյաներից որևէ մեկը: Հասկանալի է, որովհետև դրա իրական նպատակը հայ հասարակության շրջանում Ռուսաստանի ու Եվրասիական տնտեսական միության նկատմամբ աճող հիասթափությունն է: Հենց դա կանխելու համար էլ ռուսները որոշել են նվազեցնել իրենց իսկ ընկերությանը մատակարարվող գազի գինը: Ընդամենը 25 դոլարով, իհարկե: Բայց դա Ռուսաստանի ներկայիս հեղինակության համար գուցե նույնիսկ բարձր գին է»,–գրում է թերթը։
