Գյումրին և բրազիլական Օզասկո քաղաքն ունեն հետագա համագործակցության բոլոր նախադրյալները: Այս, ինչպես նաև հնարավոր համագործակցության ոլորտների հետ կապված հարցեր քննարկվեցին մայիսի 16-ին Գյումրու քաղաքապետարանում՝ Գյումրու քաղաքապետ Սամվել Բալասանյանի և ՀՀ-ում Բրազիլիայի Դաշնային Հանրապետության արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Էդսոն Մարինյո Դուարտե Մոնտեյրոի միջև տեղի ունեցած հանդիպման ժամանակ:

Գյումրու և Բրազիլիայի Սան Պաուլո նահանգում գտնվող Օզասկո քաղաքի քույր քաղաքներ դառնալու հուշագիրն ստորագրվել է 2006-ին: Օզասկոն Բրազիլիայի հայաշատ քաղաքներից է և ունի մոտ 4 հազարի հասնող հայ համայնք ու հայկական եկեղեցի: Համագործակցության համար տեղում քաղաքի ներուժին ծանոթանալու նպատակով այս տարի աշնանը Գյումրի կժամանի Օզասկոյի քաղաքապետի գլխավորած պատվիրակությունը: Այցի հետ կապված որոշ մանրամասներ ներկայացնելով՝ դեսպանը տեղեկացրեց, որ հավանաբար այցը կլինի հոկտեմբերին, իսկ պատվիրակությունը կլինի բավական մեծ: Այցի ընթացքում կստորագրվեն երկու քաղաքների հարաբերությունների և հետագա համագործակցությունը խորացնելու մասին համաձայնագիր:

Սամվել Բալասանյանը նշեց այն հիմնական երկու ոլորտները՝ մարզական և մշակութային, որտեղ համագործակցությունը հնարավոր է զարգացնել: Դեսպան Էդսոն Մարինյո Դուարտե Մոնտեյրոն ևս կարևորեց երկու քաղաքների միջև այս երկու ոլորտների համագործակցությունը՝ չբացառելով նաև այլ ոլորտները:

«Հաջորդ օլիմպիական և պարալիմպիկ խաղներն անցկացվելու են Բրազիլիայում և մենք պատրաստակամ ենք աջակցել բոլոր այն գյումրեցի մարզիկներին, ովքեր կմասնակցեն այդ խաղերին»,- նշեց դեսպանը:

Աշխատանքային այցի շրջանակներում նա եղավ նաև Գյումրու Տեխնոպարկում, ինչպես նաև մասնակցեց Համբարձման տոնին նվիրված համաքաղաքային միջոցառմանը:
