ՆԱՏՕ-ի խորհրդարանական վեհաժողովում առանձին քննարկում է եղել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության վերաբերյալ, որին ակտիվորեն մասնակցել են հայկական պատվիրակության անդամները: Մայիսի 21-ին Ազգային ժողովում լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանը ՆԱՏՕ-ի խորհրդարանական վեհաժողովի հայաստանյան պատվիրակության ղեկավար Կորյուն Նահապետյանը հայտնեց, որ քննարկման ընթացքում տարբեր պատվիրակների կողմից Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտությանը հիմնականում անդրադարձ է կատարվել հակամարտության կարգավորմանը Ռուսաստանի մասնակցության համատեքստում: «Իհարկե, մենք ակտիվ մասնակցել ենք քննարկումներին և ներկայացրել ենք մեր մտահոգությունները: Մենք ասել ենք, որ անընդունելի է հակամարտությունը դիտարկել միայն Ռուսաստանի մասնակցության համատեքստում, քանի որ հակամարտության կարգավորմանը հավասարապես մասնակցում են ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահող բոլոր երեք երկրները, և սխալ է հարցը դիտարկել միայն Ռուսաստանի մասնակցության համատեքստում»,-  ասաց Նահապետյանը:

Քննարկման ընթացքում անդրադարձ է եղել նաև ԼՂ հակամարտության ծագման պատմությանը, որի ժամանակ հայ պատվիրակները ներկայացրել են, որ հակամարտությանն ծագումը ստալինյան քաղաքականության և Ադրբեջանի Խորհրդային Հանրապետության կողմից ձեռնարկված ագրեսիայի արդյունք է, և Լեռնային Ղարաբաղը երբեք Ադրբեջանի մաս չի եղել, իսկ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի ժողովուրդն իրացրել է իր ինքնորոշման իրավունքը և ստեղծել է անկախ պետություն: «Մեր դիտարկումների հետ կապված՝ Ադրբեջանի պատվիրակը ներկայացրեց իր առարկությունները՝ խոսելով անջատողականության, պետությունների տարածքային ամբողջականության, փախստականների առկայության և մի շարք այլ հարցերի շուրջ, որոնց կապակցությամբ մենք հստակ ներկայացրեցինք մեր դիրքորոշումը: Մասնավորապես, մենք հիշեցրել ենք, որ հենց Բուդապեշտում Ռամիլ Սաֆարովն իրագործեց հայ սպայի կացնահարումը,և Ադրբեջանն ընդհանրապես իրավունք չունի մարդու իրավունքների մասին խոսելու, որովհետև այդ երկրում մարդու իրավունքները զանգվածաբար խախտվում են, և այդ առումով Ադրբեջանում իրականացվող հակահայկական քարոզչությունը խոսուն վկայությունն է այն բանի, որ Ադրբեջանը որևէ կերպ պատրաստ չէ հակա մարտության կարգավորմանն ուղղված լուրջ բանակցությունների»,- ասաց Կորյուն Նահապետյանը:

Նահապետյանը նաև նշեց, որ ՆԱՏՕ-ի խորհրդարանական վեհաժողովի նախագահ Մայք Թերները փորձ է արել կազմակերպել եռակողմ հանդիպում վեհաժողովի ղեկավարության, Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի պատվիրակությունների միջև, սակայն հանդիպումը չի կայացել, քանի որ ադրբեջանցիները հրաժարվել են մասնակցել հանդիպմանը:
