Գերմանիայի Հետախուզության դաշնային ծառայության (Bundesnachrichtendienst, BND) ղեկավար Գերհարդ Շինդլերը խոստովանել Է, որ իր գերատեսչությունը մի շարք սխալներ Է թույլ տվել ԱՄՆ-ի Ազգային անվտանգության գործակալության (ԱԱԳ) հետ համագործակցելիս, հաղորդում Է Associated Press-ը: Դրա պատճառներից թվում նա նշել Է գերմանական հետախուզության կախվածությունն ամերիկյան հատուկ ծառայություններից:

Խորհրդարանում կայացած ունկնդրումների ժամանակ ունեցած իր ելույթում Շինդլերը հայտարարել Է, որ BND-ն մի քանի տարվա ընթացքում պատշաճ կերպով չի ստուգել լրտեսման այն օբյեկտների ցանկը, որոնք ներկայացրել Է ԱԱԳ-ն: Նրա խոսքով՝ Գերմանիայի գերատեսչության մի շարք աշխատակիցներ ամերիկյան հետախուզության կասկածելի նպատակների մասին իմացել են տակավին 2005 թականին, սակայն ինքն դրանց մասին իրազեկվել Է սոսկ 2015-ի մարտին՝ պաշտոնն ստանձնելուց երեք տարի անց:
