Լատվիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Էդգարս Ռինկևիչսը չի բացառում Հայաստան-ԵՄ վիզային ռեժիմի ազատականացումը: Ռինկևիչսը հարցին անդրադարձել է ռուսական Коммерсант-ի հետ զրույցում: «Մենք գործընկեր բոլոր երկրներին ընձեռում ենք վիզային ռեժիմի ազատականացման հնարավորություն: Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի հետ հարաբերություններում մենք հստակ առաջընթաց ունենք: Մենք խոսում ենք Բելառուսի հետ վիզային ռեժիմի դյուրացման, այլ ոչ ազատականացման մասին, թեպետ իրավական տեքստերը դեռևս պատրաստ չեն: Եթե Հայաստանը կամ Ադրբեջանը ցանկանան և բոլոր չափանիշներին բավարարեն, ես որևէ խոչընդոտ չեմ տեսնում` նրանց նման հնարավորություն ընձեռելու համար: Մոլդովայի հետ մենք արդեն առանց վիզային ռեժիմի ենք»,- ասել է Ռինկևիչսը:

Անդրադառանալով Հայաստանի հետ շրջանակային համաձայնագիր նախապատրաստելու վերաբերյալ արված հայտարարություններին` Լատվիայի արտգործնախարարը հայտնել է, որ ԵՄ-ն պատրաստ է Երևանի հետ բանակցություններ սկսել նոր համաձայնագրի վերաբերյալ, որն արդեն հիմնված կլինի այն մշակումների վրա, որոնք արվել են 2013 թվականին Ասոցացման համաձայնագրի շուրջ: «Սկզբունքային տարբերությունը կլինի այն, որ Հայաստանն այժմ ԵԱՏՄ անդամ է: Մենք կփնտրենք տարբերակներ, որ Հայաստանի` ԵԱՏՄ-ին անդամակցությամբ պայմանավորված պարտականությունները չհակասեն մի շարք ոլորտներում Եվրամիության հետ հարաբերությունների զարգացմանը»,- հայտնել է Ռինկևիչսը:
