Հայտնի են դեպքեր, երբ համակարգչի դեմ երկար նստելուց ողնաշարի սկավառակների խախտում է եղել՝ վզի և գոտկատեղի շրջանում։ Որպեսզի խուսափեք նման տհաճ ու ցավոտ հիվանդություններից, պետք է երբեմն դադարներ անել աշխատանքի ընթացքում։ Եթե աշխատում եք գրասենյակում, ապա հաճախակի դուրս եկեք մաքուր օդի ու կարճ զբոսանքներ արեք, ինչպես նաև պարզ վարժություններ, ինչպիսիք են գլխի պտույտները, իրանի սահուն թեքումները աջ և ձախ: Մի՛ վախեցեք, եթե ձեր ոսկորները սկսեն ճտճտալ։ Ցանկալի է, որպեսզի նման կարճատև դադարներ արվեն ամեն քառասուն րոպեն մեկ։

Սակայն ամենաշատը համակարգչի դիմաց նստելուց տուժում են մեր աչքերը։ Պատճառը, թերևս, այն է, որ մեր աչքերը դադարում են խոնավանալ, երբ մենք տևական ժամանակ հայացքներս չենք կտրում մոնիտորից։ Սա կոչվում է չոր աչքերի էֆեկտ, ինչից առաջանում են աչքերի կարմրում, մազանոթները սկսում են պայթել, առաջանում են կեղծ կարճատեսության ախտանիշեր, որոնք հետագայում բերում են իրական կարճատեսության։ Կա տարածված կարծրատիպ, որ կոնտակտային ոսպնյակներն ու ակնոցները բուժում են կարճատեսոությունը, բայց իրականում դրանք պարզապես կատարում են մեր աչքերի ֆունկցիաները, երբ դրանք են թերանում դրանց կատարման հարցում։ Որպեսզի զերծ մնանք կարճատեսություն ձեռք բերելու վտանգից, պարզապես պետք է հեռու նստենք էկրանից: Պետք է հաճախակի հայացքը ուղղել այլ կետի վրա, որը չի գտնվում էկրանի վրա, հաճախակի կատարեք օղակաձև և զիգզագաձև շարժումներ ձեր աչքերով և կիրառեք այսպես կոչված «Ճանճ՝ պատի վրա» վարժանքը՝ կենտրոնացնելով ձեր հայացքը հեռավոր պատի վրա գտնվող ինչ-որ մի կետի վրա։ Եթե զգում եք, որ հաճախակի եք սկսել թարթել և տրորել աչքերը, պետք է ետ հենվել աթոռի վրա, մի երկու րոպեով փակել աչքերը և դրանք ծածկել ձեռքերի ափերով։

Համակարգչից առաջացող ամենատհաճ հիվանդությունը, անխոս, թութքն է, որը դարձել է օֆիսային աշխատողների իսկական պատիժը, քանի որ բացի նրանից, որ դրա առաջացման մեծ ռիսկ գոյություն ունի, նաև կա մեծ խնդիր, երբ այդ ցավոտ հիվանդությունը ձեռք բերած մարդիկ ամաչում են գանգատվել բժշկին և այն զարգանում է մինչև անտանելի դառնալը։ Թութքից խուսափելու համար պարզապես անհրաժեշտ է երբեմն կանգնել ու անընդհատ նստած դիրքում չլինել, կերեք ավելի քիչ կծու, յուղոտ ու աղի ուտելիք, ինչպես նաև խուսափեք ֆասթ ֆուդից և խմեք շատ հեղուկ։
