Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի նախագահների քաղաքական կամքի առկայության, ինչպես նաև այդ երկրներում երկու ժողովրդի ցուցաբերած աջակցության պարագայում Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտությունը կարող է կարգավորվել:  Այս մասին ադրբեջանական «Թուրան» գործակալությանը տված հարցազրույցում ա սել է ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի ԱՄՆ համանախագահ Ջեյմս Ուորլիքը:

Համանախագահը հույս է հայտնել, որ Սերժ Սարգսյանն ու Իլհամ Ալիևը կհանդիպեն այս տարվա ընթացքում: «Մենք ցանկանում ենք, որ լինի դրական արդյունք, այլ ոչ թե պարզապես հանդիպում: Այն պետք է համապատասխան կերպով նախապատրաստված լինի, իսկ քննարկվելիք հարցերում առկա լինի առաջընթաց: Այդ պատճառով մենք պարբերաբար հանդիպում ենք երկրների արտաքին գործերի նախարարների հետ»,- ասել է Ուորլիքը:

Նա ցավով է արձանագրել, որ ղարաբաղյան հակամարտության կարգավորման հնարավորություններ բանակցային գործընթացի ընթացքում մի քանի անգամ եղել են, սակայն չեն իրացվել: «Նոր հնարավորություն կա նաև հիմա, և անհրաժեշտ է այն օգտագործել: Չեմ ցանկանում փոքրացնել առկա դժվարությունները, սակայն քաղաքական կամքի առկայության պարագայում հակամարտությունը լուծելի է: Դրա այլընտրանքը պատերազմն է, սակայն չեմ կարծում, որ երկու երկրի ժողովուրդները կշահեն դրանից: Ես բավականին շատ եմ շփվել նախագահներ Ալիևի և Սարգսյանի հետ և կարող եմ ասել, որ նրանք պատերազմ չեն ուզում, այլ կողմ են խաղաղ կարգավորմանը, այդ իսկ պատճառով էլ մենք նրանց օգնում ենք»,- նշել է Ուորլիքը:
