Ամերիկայի Միացյալ Նահանգները կարեւորում է Սիրիայի հայ համայնքի պաշտպանության խնդիրը եւ հավատարիմ է դրա իրականացմանը: Հայ դատի գրասենյակի հաղորդմամբ` ԱՄՆ-ի հայկական մի շարք կազմակերպությունների ներկայացուցիչների հետ Վաշինգտոնում կայացած հանդիպմանը այս մասին հայտնել են Միացյալ Նահանգների պետքարտուղարության պաշտոնյաները: Հանդիպման մասնակից Վաշ ինգտոնի Հայ դատի գրասենյակի ղեկավար Արամ Համբարյանն «Ամերիկայի ձայնին» պատմել է, որ հանդիպումը հնարավորություն է տվել ԱՄՆ-ի պաշտոնյաներին հասցնել Միացյալ Նահանգների հայ համայնքի մտահոգությունները. «Այդ լուրջ հանդիպումը մեզ հնարավորություն տվեց անկեղծ եւ բաց կարծիքներ փոխանակել եւ սիրիահայերի մարտահրավերների դեմն առնելու իրական լուծումներ մշակել»:

Հանդիպման մեկ այլ մասնակից, ՀՅԴ Արեւմտյան Ամերիկայի ատենապետ, դոկտոր Վիգեն Հովսեփյանի խոսքով, գոյություն ունի լուրջ հակասություն ԱՄՆ-ի կողմից Սիրիայի փախստականներին տրամադրվող օգնության չափերի եւ սիրիահայերին այդ օգնության ընդամենը չնչին մասի բաժին հասնելու հետ կապված. «Մենք կարողացանք խոսել եւ հրավիրել ներկայացուցիչների ուշադրությունը մեր սիրիահայ քույրերին եւ եղբայրներին անմիջական օժանդակություն հասցնելու կարեւորության վրա, անկախ նրանից, թե որտեղ էն նրանք ապրում»:

Հանդիպման մասնակիցների հավաստմամբ, Միացյալ Նահանգների դիվանագետները կոչ են արել համայնքի ներկայացուցիչներին պաշտոնապես ներկայացնել իրենց առաջարկները, որոնց միջոցով ԱՄՆ-ի կառավարությունն իր աջակցությունը կցուցաբերի սիրիահայ փախստականներին եւ Սիրիայի հայ համայնքին:

ԱՄՆ-ի հայկական մի շարք կազմակերպությունների ներկայացուցիչներ ուշադրություն են հրավիրել մի շարք լուրջ խնդիրների վրա, որոնք կապված են օգնությունը հասցեատիրոջը հասցնելու հետ, ինչի արդյունքում Հալեպի եւ Սիրիայի այլ վայրերի հայերին չի հասել ամերիկյան օգնությունը:
