ԱՄՆ Կոլումբիայի համալսարանի Մարդու իրավունքների ուսումնասիրության ինստիտուտի «Խաղաղության կառուցման և իրավունքների» ծրագրի ղեկավար Դեյվիդ Ֆիլիպսը հոդված է հրապարակել ամերիկյան հայտնի The Huffington Post պարբերականում, որտեղ Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանին մեղադրում է երկիրն անխոհեմաբար դեպի անժամկետ պատերազմ առանջորդելու մեջ: «Թուրքիայի գլխավերևում մրրկաբեր ամպեր են կուտակվում: Թուրքիային սպասվում է մռայլ ապագա, որի պատասխանատվությունը կրում է նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը: Նրա վարած քաղաքականության հետևանքով Թուրքիան դարձել է ավելի անապահով, անկայուն և լուծվող: Իր երկիրը փոսից հանելու փոխարեն Էրդողանը ավելի է խորացնում այն` Թուրքիայի խնդիրների մեջ զրպարտելով և մեղադրելով ուրիշներին»,-  Արմենպրեսի փոխանցմամբ՝ նման տեսակետ է հայտնում հոդվածի հեղինակը:

Ֆիլիպսը հիշեցնում է, որ հուլիսի 24-ին ԱՄՆ-ը և Թուրքիան հայտարարեցին նոր համաձայնագրի մասին, որը թույլ կտա դաշնակիցներին օգտագործել թուրքական ավիացիոն բազաները Սիրիայում և Իրաքում ԻԼԻՊ-ի դեմ օդային հարձակումներ գործելու համար: Այնինչ, ինչպես նկատում է ամերիկացի մասնագետը, Էրդողանն այդ գործարքն օգտագործեց Իրաքի քրդական շրջաններում Քրդական բանվորական կուսակցության ներկայացուցչությունները ռմբակոծելու համար: «Արևմուտքի համար հակաահաբեկչությունը նշանակում է պայքարել ԻԼԻՊ-ի դեմ: Էրդողանի համար, դա նշանակում է սպանել քրդերին: Էրդողանը չի կարող քողարկել իր իրական մտադրությունները: Վերջերս կայացած ՆԱՏՕ-ի հանդիպմանը մի քանի երկրներ մտահոգություն հայտնեցին այն մասին, որ քրդերին թիրախի տակ առնելը կարող է հզորացնել ԻԼԻՊ-ին»,- գրում է Ֆիլիպսը՝ հավելելով, որ քրդական բնակչության վրա հարձակումը խոչընդոտում է խաղաղության գործընթացի արդյունավետ ընթացքին:

«Էրդողանը չարաշահել է իր ժողովրդի վստահությունը՝ իշխանության հաստատման իր այլանդակ հետապնդումներով: Թուրքիային սպասում է մռայլ ապագա»,- ամփոփում է հոդվածագիրը:
