Ավելի քան երկու շաբաթ Թուրքիայում շարունակվող հարձակումների պատճառով  Իրանը երկրի հյուսիս-արևմուտքում ժամանակավորապես փակել է թուրք-իրանական սահմանը: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ վկայակոչելով թուրքական «Միլլիեթ» պարբերականը, այս մասին հայտնել է Իրանի ոստիկանության պետ, գեներալ Հուսեյն Աշթարին:

Խոսելով Թեհրանում տեղի ունեցած մի կոնֆերանսի ժամանակ՝ Աշթարին հայտնել է, որ նման որոշում ընդունելու պատճառը պետք է հարցնել Իրանի Բարձրագույն ազգային անվտանգության խորհրդից: «Կարծես թե նման որոշման պատճառը երկրի արևմտյան սահմաններում, մասնավորապես Թուրքիայում վերջին օրերի ընթացքում տեղի ունեցող իրադարձություններն են»,- ասել է Իրանի ոստիկանության պետը:

Թուրքիայի Ուրֆա նահանգի Սուրուչ քաղաքում հուլիսի 20-ին տեղի ունեցած ահաբեկչությունից հետո երկրում իրավիճակն աստիճանաբար դուրս է գալիս վերահսկողությունից: Երբ թուրքական ռազմական ուժերը ԻԼԻՊ-ի դիրքերը ռմբակոծելուն զուգահեռ սկսեցին ռմբակոծել նաև քուրդ զինյալների դիրքերը Հյուսիսային Իրաքում և երկրի ներսում, Քրդական աշխատավորական կուսակցության (PKK) մարտիկներն իսկական պատերազմ սկսեցին թուրքական ուժային կառույցների դեմ: Ամեն օր երկրի արևելյան նահանգներում քրդերը հարձակվում են ոստիկանության և զինվորականության վրա՝ իրենց հետևից զոհեր կամ վիրավորներ թողնելով:
