Իսկ պատմությունն ավելի քան պարզ է: Ստենֆորդի համալսարանի շրջանավարտ, ամերիկացի Ռոյ Ռեյմոնդը մի օր որոշում է իր կնոջը ներքնազգեստ նվիրել, սակայն շրջելով խանութներով եւ ոչինչ չգտնելով, Ռեյմոնդի գլխում հղանում է ներքնազգեստի սեփական խանութ բացելու միտքը: Առաջին խանութը նա բացում է 1977 թվականին, որում ներկայացված տեսականին մեծ հաջողություն է ունենում: Թեեւ բրենդի ստեղծման պատճառը նրա հիմնադրի կինն է եղել, այնուամենայնիվ, Victoria՛s Secret անվանումը կապված չէ նրա հետ, այլ Վիկտորիա թագուհու, ով իր հետքն է թողել նորաձևության մեջ:

Տարեցտարի բրենդը մեծ հաջողություն է ունենում, եւ Ռեյմոնդը բացում է իր 6-րդ խանութը: Բացի այս, նա ստեղծում է կատալոգներով ապրանք պատվիրելու համակարգը, ինչն էլ ավելի է նպաստում Victoria՛s Secret-ի տարածմանն ու հաջողությանը: 1982 թվականին The Limited Brands ընկերությունը գնում է Ռեյմոնդից Victoria՛s Secret-ը եւ էլ ավելի ընդլայնում այն: Ընկերությունը սկսում է արտադրել ոչ միայն կանացի ներքնազգեստ, այլեւ հագուստ, գիշերազգեստ, օծանելիք, կոշիկ…

Ինչ վերաբերում է  Victoria՛s Secret-ի հիմնադիր Ռոյ Ռեյմոնդին, ապա նա, ապրանքանիշը վաճառելուց հետո, փորձում է մանկական հագուստի խանութ բացել, սակայն դա հաջողությամբ չի պսակվում, եւ կարճ ժամանակ անց նա սնանկ է ճանաչվում: 1993 թվականին Ռեյմոնդն ինքնասպան է լինում` ցած նետվելով կամուրջից:

1995 թվականին տեղի է ունենում Victoria՛s Secret ներքնազգեստների առաջին  ցուցադրությունը, որն այդ օրվանից հետո դառնում է նորաձևության ամենասպասված իրադարձություններից մեկը: Բրենդի հրեշտակ-մոդելները համարվում են ամենահայտնի մոդելներն աշխարհում, ովքեր օրինակ են շատ աղջիկների համար, քանի որ չափից դուրս նիհար չեն եւ առողջ կյանք են վարում:
