 ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման նախագահական Սպիտակ տանը ԶԼՄ-ների ներկայացուցիչների հետ հանդիպման ժամանակ հայտարարել է, որ Թուրքիան առաջին հերթին պետք է կռվի «Իսլամական պետություն» (ԻՊ) ահաբեկչական խմբավորման, եւ ոչ թե Քուրդիստանի աշխատավորական կուսակցության (PKK) դեմ:

Այս մասին, ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հայտնում է Huffington Post թերթը:

Հանդիպման ժամանակ քննարկվող հարցերից են եղել PKK-ի եւ ԻՊ-ի դեմ Թուրքիայի կողմից անցկացվող ռազմական գործողությունները:

Լրագրողների այն հարցին, թե այդ գործողությունները կառաջացնե՞ն խնդիրներ, Օբաման պատասխանել է. «Բանակցություններ են տարվում ԻՊ-ի կողմից աշխարհի համար ստեղծված վտանգի եւ տարածաշրջանում հանգստության առնչությամբ: Թուրքիան ունի PKK-ի հարձակումներից պաշտպանվելու իրավունք: Սակայն այժմ կարեւոր է լուծել ԻՊ-ի հետ կապված հարցը: Թուրքիայի կողմից իրագործվող գործողությունների գլխավոր նպատակը պետք է դառնա ոչ թե PKK -ն, այլ ԻՊ-ը: Բոլոր փորձերը հարկավոր է ուղղել դրա վրա»:

Թուրքիայի Ուրֆա Նահանգի Սուրուչ քաղաքում քրդական երիտասարդական կազմակերպության կողմից միջոցառման ժամանակ տեղի ունեցած հզոր պայթյունից հետո, որի հետեւանքով 32 մարդ զոհվել, 100-ից ավելի մարդ էլ վիրավորվել էր, Թուրքիան ԻՊ-ի դեմ պայքարի նպատակով վերականգնել է իրաքյան Քուրդիստանի տարածքում Կանդիլ լեռան վրա գտնվող PKK-ի ճամբարների ռմբակոծությունները:

Անկարան երկյուղում է, որ Սիրիայի հյուսիսում ԻՊ-ի մարտիկների դեմ քրդերի տարած հաղթանակներից հետո սիրիացի քրդերը, հնարավոր է, ինքնավարություն հայտարարեն այդտեղ, ինչը, անկասկած, կարող է վարակիչ լինել Թուրքիայի արեւելյան եւ հարավարեւելյան շրջաններում բնակվող քրդերի համար:
