 Իրանը չափազանց կարեւոր խաղորդ Է Մերձավոր Արեւելքում, որպեսզի հնարավոր լիներ նրան արհեստականորեն մեկուսացնել այդ տարածաշրջանում որոշումների ընդունմանը մասնակցելուց: Ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, օգոստոսի 24-ին այս հայտարարությամբ հանդես Է եկել Միացյալ Թագավորության ԱԳ նախարար Ֆիլիպ Համոնդը, որը նախօրյակին հանդիսավոր պայմաններում Թեհրանում վերաբացել Է Մեծ Բրիտանիայի դեսպանությունը:

Միեւնույն ժամանակ նախարարը նշել Է, որ ե՛ւ Լոնդոնը, ե՛ւ արեւմտյան աշխարհը պետք Է զգուշությամբ վերաբերվեն Իրանի հետ երկկողմ հարաբերությունների աստիճանական բարելավմանը: «Մենք ստիպված ենք գործ ունենալ փոխադարձ անվստահության երկար պատմության, ինչպես նաեւ բազմաթիվ կարեւոր հարցերի վերաբերյալ տեսակետների լուրջ տարբերությունների հետ»,-արձանագրել Է Համոնդը:

Պահպանվող հակասությունների թվում նախարարը հիշատակել Է «Իրանում մարդու իրավունքների պահպանման» հետ կապված իրադրությունը: Միեւնույն ժամանակ, բրիտանացի քաղաքական գործչի խոսքով, «Իսլամական պետություն» (ԻՊ) ահաբեկչական կազմակերպության կողմից ագրեսիայի ակտիվացումը Լոնդոնին եւ Թեհրանին թույլ Է տվել, չնայած առկա տարաձայնություններին, շփման եզրեր գտնել մի շարք այլ ոլորտներում, որտեղ «կողմերի շահերը համընկնում են»: Հարցերի թվում, որոնց շուրջ կողմերը «սերտ համագործակցություն» են հաստատել, Համոնդը, մասնավորապես, հիշատակել Է պայքարը թմրաթրաֆիքի դեմ, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
