Վրաստանի նախագահ Գեորգի Մարգվելաշվիլին հանդիպել է Վրաստանում գտնվող ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Յենս Ստոլտենբերգի հետ և քննարկել Վրաստանի ՆԱՏՕ-ին ինտեգրվելու գործընթացը, տարածաշրջանային անվտանգության և Աֆղանստանում ՆԱՏՕ-ի առաքելությունում վրացի զինծառայողների մասնակցության հարցերը։

Հանդիպման հիմնական նպատակի եւ Վրաստանի՝ ՆԱՏՕ-ի անդամ-պետություն դառնալու բաղձալի երազանքի իրական դառնալ-չդառնալու վերաբերյալ Orer.am-ը զրուցեց վրացագետ Ջոնի Մելիքյանի հետ:

«Այցելության հիմնական նպատակը ՆԱՏՕ-Վրաստան ռազմական ուսումնական կենտրոնի բացումն էր: Նկատենք, որ ամեն ինչ արվում է անցած տարի ստորագրված հատուկ փաթեթի շրջանակում: Այդ ուսումնական կենտրոնում վրացի ծառայողները պետք է վերապատրաստվեն:

Ի դեպ, նախապես հայտարարվել էր, որ վերապատրաստման կուրսեր կարող են անցնել նաեւ ՆԱՏՕ-ի անդամ-երկրների ներկայացուցիչները»,- ասաց նա:

Վրացագետի գնահատմամբ` ուսումնավարժական կենտրոնի բացումը կարելի է համարել քայլ առաջ ՆԱՏՕ-ի հետ հարաբերությունների լավացման գործընթացում:

«Վրաստանը ցանկանում է անդամակցել ՆԱՏՕ-ին եւ ՄԱՊ ստանալը համարվում է որպես առաջին քայլ: Հիշենք, որ անցած տարի Վրաստանին պարզապես ՄԱՊ չտրվեց, այդ իսկ պատճառով մեր հարեւան պետության իշխանությունները փորձում են ամեն կերպ ստանալ այն՝ հույս ունենալով որ նման քայլերով գալիք տարի իրենք կստանան այդ փաստաթուղթը»,- նշեց Ջ. Մելիքյանը:

Վրացագետը նկատում է` թեպետ հնչում են հայտարարություններ, թե ՄԱՊ ստանալը պարտադիր չէ, որ առանց դրա էլ Վրաստան-ՆԱՏՕ հարաբերությունները ընթանում են առաջ, այնուամենայնիվ, այս պահի դրությամբ նրանք չգիտեն, թե երբ կսկվի ինտեգրման գործընթացը: Վրացագետի կարծիքով՝ ՄԱՊ ստանալը թերեւս երկրորդական հարց է:

«Գագաթաժողովի ժամանակ կտրամադրե՞ն Վրաստանին ՄԱՊ, թե՞ ոչ, իմ կարծիքով, երկրորդական հարց է, քանի որ, միեւնույն է, նրանք շարունակելու են գնալ դեպի ինտեգրման գործընթացը:

Իհարկե, դժվար է պատկերացնել, որ չլուծված կոնֆլիկտներ ունեցող երկրին կինտեգրեն եւ կդարձնեն ՆԱՏՕ-ի անդամ-պետություն»,- խոսքը եզրափակեց Ջոնի Մելիքյանը:
