Հունահռոմեական ոճի ըմբշամարտի աշխարհի կրկնակի չեմպիոն Արթուր Ալեքսանյանի համար առաջնահերթ է Օլիմպիական չեմպիոն դառնալը: «Շատ ուրախ եմ, որ երկրորդ տարին անընդմեջ դարձա աշխարհի չեմպիոն: Աշխարհի չեմպիոն դառնալ շատ բարդ էր, բայց ավելի բարդ է տիտղոսը պահպանելը: Ես այս մրցումներում հասկացա, որ այժմ ֆիզիկապես եւ ֆունկցիոնալ ավելի պատրաս տ եմ, հենց նույն պարսիկ ըմբիշի հետ մենամարտում: Այս տարիների ընթացքում մենք ճիշտ աշխատանք ենք կատարել մարզչական շտաբի հետ համատեղ: Ամեն ինչ անելու եմ, որ նույն մարզավիճակում մնամ մինչև Օլիմպիական խաղերը: Ես փորձելու եմ նվաճել նաև օլիմպիական ոսկին»,-«Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ` լրագրողների հետ զրույցում ասաց աշխարհի կրկնակի չեմպիոնը:

Հունահռոմեական ոճի ըմբշամարտի աշխարհի չեմպիոն Արթուր Ալեքսանյանը պահպանեց աշխարհի չեմպիոնի տիտղոսը: Եզրափակիչում Ալեքսանյանը մրցում էր իր հիմնական մրցակից, Իրանի ներկայացուցիչ Գազեմ Գոլամռեզա Ռեզաեի հետ: Ալեքսանյանն անկասելի էր և հաղթեց 3:0 հաշվով: Ալեքսանյանն արդեն երկու տարի է` լավագույնն է աշխարհում:

Աշխարհի առաջնությունն անցկացվում էր ԱՄՆ-ի Լաս Վեգաս քաղաքում: Նախաօլիմպիական այս տարում աշխարհի այս առաջնությունը վարկանիշային էր. այստեղ խաղարկվեցին 16 օլիմպիական ուղեգրեր: Մեր հավաքականի կազմում Ռիոյի Օլիմպիական խաղերի համար վարկանիշ ունեն Արթուր Ալեքսանյանը և Միհրան Հարությունյանը:
