Ազգային ժողովի ՀՀԿ խմբակցության պատգամավոր Մարգարիտ Եսայանն արձագանքել է սահմանադրական բարեփոխումների վերաբերյալ ՀԱԿ խմբակցության պատգամավոր Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի ելույթին: Իր ելույթում Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը սահմանադրական բարեփոխումների գործընթացը համեմատել էր պոկեր թղթախաղում «բլեֆի» հետ: Նա նաև նշել էր, որ սահմանադրական բարեփոխումներով Սերժ Սարգսյանը նպատակ է հետապնդում գլխովին ջախջախել ը նդդիմադիր դաշտը, որպեսզի առաջիկա ընտրություններում ՀՀԿ-ն մրցակից չունենա: Փաշինյանն իր դիրքորոշումը հիմնավորել էր պատմական օրինակով՝ մեջբերելով 19-րդ դարի սկզբի ռուս-ֆրանսիական պատերազմից մի դրվագ: Արմենպրեսի փոխանցմամբ` Ազգային ժողովում սահմանադրական բարեփոխումների քննարկման ժամանակ իր ելույթում Մարգարիտ Եսայանը հակադարձեց Նիկոլ Փաշինյանին:

«Անուններ որոշել էի չհնչեցնել, բայց Նիկոլ Փաշինյանին հարկադրված պիտի ասեմ՝ սիրո՞ւմ ես պոկեր, գնա, խաղա: Բայց քաղաքականություն մի խաղա: Չի ստացվում, բոլոր թելերը երևում են: Սիրո՞ւմ ես պատմություն, Նապոլեոնին ու Չերչիլին ես սիրում: Սիրիր: Բայց գոնե սիրածդ պատմությունները մինչև վերջ կարդա: Բորոդինոյի ճակատամարտը, որ պրոյեկտում ես հայոց քաղաքական դաշտ, մեկ օր է տևել ու ավարտվել է ոչ ռուսների, ոչ ֆրանսիացիների հաղթանակով: Ռազմական իմաստով չի էլ ավարտվել՝ հետ են քաշվել, հաջորդ օրը վերսկսելու համար, բայց չեն սկսել: Հետո արդեն Նապոլեոն Բոնապարտը պարտվեց Վաթերլոոն, ո՞վ էր խանգարում հաղթել: Ռազմի դաշտում ոչ ոք:

Պատմության ընթացքին էր դեմ գնում: Իսկ Ուինսթոն Չերչիլը, ում այդքան սիրով մեջբերում ես, ծովային նախարարն էր ու հրաժարական տվեց, երբ Անգլիան տանուլ տվեց Դարդանելի նեղուցների ճակատամարտը: Վերջին հրաժարականն էլ տվեց վարչապետի պաշտոնից, երբ Անգլիան հաղթական ավարտել էր երկրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմը, բայց Չերչիլը տանուլ տվեց ընտրությունները:

Եթե այդքան սիրում ես պատմական օրինակներով քո ճիշտ լինելը հիմնավորել, պարտված գործիչների մի ընտրիր: Կարող է վարակիչ լինել: Ու հիշի՝ դավադրությունների մասնագետը Մարգարիտ Եսայանը չէ, հասկանում եմ պաթոսդ՝ ջահել ես, ուզում ես ճամփա անցնել, հավակնություններ ու հաշիվներ ունես, բայց չափիդ մեջ մնա ու քո արշինով ուրիշներին մի չափի: Քաղաքականությունը անձնական հարցեր լուծելու տեղ չէ, իսկ եթե դառնում է, շատ կարճ ժամանակի մեջ ամեն մեկին վերադարձնում է իր իրական արժեքը, ոմանց՝ գինը»:
