ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը սեպտեմբերի 24-ին ներկա է գտնվել մայրաքաղաքի Քանաքեռ Զեյթուն վարչական շրջանում «ՀԲԸՄ Վահե Կարապետյան կենտրոն»-ի բացման արարողությանը: Բացումը կատարել են Հայ բարեգործական ընդհանուր միության (ՀԲԸՄ) նախագահ Պերճ Սեդրակյանը և կենտրոնի հիմնադիր, ամերիկահայ բարերար Վահե Կարապետյանը:

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, Երևանի Զաքարիա Քանաքեռցու 1 հասցեում գտնվող և 5000քմ տարածք զբաղեցնող՝ «ՀԲԸՄ Վահե Կարապետյան կենտրոն»-ի շենքը միությանը նվիրաբերել է բարերար Վահե Կարապետյանը: Նախատեսված է, որ կենտրոնը կդառնա հայրենիք-սփյուռք հարաբերությունների զարգացմանն ու ամրապնդմանն ուղղված ՀԲԸՄ-ի առաքելության գործնականացման, Հայաստանում նրա ընդլայնվող ներկայության և գործունեությա ն, ինչպես նաև սփյուռքահայ ու հայաստանաբնակ երիտասարդների միջև կապերի սերտացմանը նպաստող հայաստանակենտրոն ծրագրերի իրականացման կարևոր օջախ և կամուրջ: Այստեղ կիրականացվեն երիտասարդական, մշակութային և կրթական տարաբնույթ ծրագրեր, կկազմակերպվեն աշխատաժողովներ ու հանդիպումներ:

Կենտրոնն իր հարկի տակ կհյուրընկալի նաև ՀԲԸՄ-ի ամենամյա ամառային ծրագրերի մասնակից ու տարբեր երկրներից ժամանող հարյուրավոր սփյուռքահայ երիտասարդների և դպրոցական խմբերի:

Նախագահը շրջայց է կատարել կենտրոնում, ծանոթացել գործունեության համար ստեղծված պայմաններին ու կենտրոնի հետագա զարգացման ծրագրերին: Սերժ Սարգսյանն այցելել է նաև կենտրոնի առաջին մասնաշենքում տեղակայված «Սիրիահայերի հիմնախնդիրները համակարգող կենտրոն» ՀԿ գրասենյակ, որն աջակցություն է ցուցաբերում գրասենյակ դիմող սիրիահայերին:

Հանրապետության Նախագահին ներկայացրել են, որ ավարտվել են կենտրոնի 3-րդ մասնաշենքի վերակառուցման նախագծային աշխատանքները, որտեղ ևս իրականացվելու են ՀԲԸՄ երիտասարդական ու մշակութային ծրագրեր:

Կենտրոնի բացման արարողության շրջանակներում ՀԲԸՄ-ի կողմից Վահե Կարապետյանին շնորհվել է Միության բարերար անդամի կոչում: Բարերարը պարգևատրվել է նաև ՀԲԸՄ ոսկե մեդալով:
