Սեպտեմբերի 25-ին ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ի բարի կամքի դեսպաններ Շակիրան և Անջելիք Քիջոն ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր ասամբելայում իրենց ելույթով տոնեցին կայուն զարգացման նպատակների ընդունումը, որին ներկա էին պետությունների 130 ղեկավարները: Նորին Սրբություն Հռոմի պապ Ֆրանցիսկոսի ելույթին հաջորդեց Շակիրայի՝ Ջոն Լենոնի «Իմեջին» երգի կատարումը: «Մենք ապրում ենք մի աշխարհում, որտեղ շատերը, ովքեր ծնվում են աղքատության մեջ, նաև մահանում են աղքատության մեջ: Մենք պետք է լինենք առաջին հասարակությունը, որը կվերացնի աղքատությունը և արդարություն ու հավասարություն կբերի աշխարհում առավել խոցելի մարդկանց», իր ելույթից առաջ ներկա առաջնորդներին հայտնեց Շակիրան, ով երեխայի իրավունքների կրքոտ պաշտպան է: «Մեր երեխաները հավասար հնարավորությունների իրավունք ունեն, որպեսզի բարգավաճեն և ապրեն երջանիկ, առողջ ու ապահով կյանքով»:

Անջելիք Քիջոն, ով ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ի բարի կամքի դեսպանն է 2002 թվականից, իր «Աֆիրիկա» երգի նոր հուզիչ տարբերակը երգեց, որն իր հիմնն է այն մայրցամաքին, որը նա իր տունն է համարում: «Աֆրիկան և իր երեխաները կայուն զարգացման նպատակներից կարող են ստանալ առավելագույնը, սակայն նրանք նաև շատ բան ունեն կորցնելու, եթե մեր առաջնորդները խաղաղության և բարեկեցության այս նոր օրակարգը չիրականացնեն», ասաց Քիջոն: «Որպես արվեստի գործիչ ես ուզում եմ իմ ձայնն օգտագործել, որ մարդիկ հասկանան այս նպատակները և ինչու են դրանք կարևոր, որպեսզի իրենց առաջնորդներից պահանջեն դրանց իրականացումը»:

Երիտասարդներով շրջապատված Մալալա Յուսաֆզային հույս հայտնեց, որ երեխայի իրավունքները իրենց տեղը կգտնեն կայուն զարգացման նպատակների վավերացման և իրականացման գործընթացում: Կայուն զարգացման նպատակները կազմվել են մի քանի գերնպատակների շուրջ, որոնք են՝ վերացնել ծայրահեղ աղքատությունն ու սովը, որակյալ կրթություն տրամադրել բոլորին, պաշտպանել Երկիր մոլորակը և խաղաղ ու ներառական հասարակություններ ստեղծել: ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ի տեղեկացմամաբ, այս նոր նպատակները երեխաների համար բարեկեցիկ կյանքով ապրելու պատմական հնարավորություն են հանդիսանում: Եթե աշխարհը ուշադրություն չդարձնի իր առավել խոցելի և մեկուսացված երեխաների կարիքներին, ապա բոլոր ջանքերն ու ներդնումներն ավելորդ են:
