Իսպանիայի կառավարության նախագահ Մարիանո Ռախոյը հայտարարել Է, որ Կատալոնիայի անկախության կողմնակիցները պարտություն են կրել սեպտեմբերի 27-ին ինքնավար մարզում կայացած ընտրություններում:

Ընտրություններում Junts pel Si կոալիցիան 62 տեղ Է ստացել ինքնավար մարզի խորհրդարանում: «Ժողովրդական միասնության թեկնածությունների» (CUP) տասը մանդատի հետ միասին դա ինքնավարության անջատման կողմնակիցներին ապահովում Է 72 մանդատ, այսինքն՝ բացարձակ մեծամասնությունը: Սակայն ընտրություններում այդ երկու քաղաքական ուժերի օգտին քվեարկել Է ընտրողների 47,8 տոկոսը՝ կեսից պակասը: Ռախոյը հիշեցրել Է, որ խոսքը հենց Կատալոնիայի նոր օրենսդիր մարմնի ընտրությունների մասին Է, այլ ոչ թե հանրահարցման անցկացման:

«Նրանք մեծամասնություն չեն ստացել քվեարկության արդյունքում: Դա իրականություն Է: Ես ցանկանում եմ հանգստացնել կատալոնցիներին, բոլոր իսպանացիներին եւ բոլոր նրանց, ովքեր ընտրություններին հետեւել են արտասահմանում: Նրանք երբեք չեն հարգել օրենքը, եւ նրանք չունեն կատալոնացիների մեծամասնության աջակցությունը»,-հայտարարել Է Ռախոյը: Նա նաեւ կատալոնացիներին շնորհավորել Է ընտրություններին  մասնակցության բարձր ցուցանիշի համար, որը գերազանցել Է 77 տոկոսը:

Ավելի վաղ Ռախոյը հայտարարել Էր, որ Իսպանիայի իշխանությունները պատրաստ են աշխատել Կատալոնիայի նոր կառավարության հետ, որն ընտրվելու Է անցկացված ընտրությունների արդյունքներով:

Մինչդեռ Կատալոնիայի ղեկավար Արթուր Մասը սեպտեմբերի 28-ին հայտարարել Է, որ ինքնավարության նոր խորհրդարանի նպատակը, որտեղ Իսպանիայից այդ ինքնավար հանրակցության անկախությունը պաշտպանող կուսակցությունները մեծամասնություն ունեն, կդառնա Կատալոնյան պետության ստեղծումը:

«Կատալոնիայի 72 պատգամավորները կարող են այն հասցնել Կատալոնյան պետության անկախության»,-ասել Է Արթուր Մասը մամուլի ասուլիսում: «Մենք կկիրառենք ճանապարհային քարտեզը, որը մեզ կբերի Կատալոնյան պետության: Դա գերակայությունն Է»,-հավելել Է նա: Մասը հիշեցրել Է, որ ճանապարհային քարտեզը նախատեսում Է պետական կառույցների ստեղծում, զարգացում եւ ընդլայնում, որոնք թույլ կտան անջատվել Իսպանիայից, հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
