 Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը սեպտեմբերի 30-ին Վաշինգտոնում հանդիպումներ է ունեցել «Ամերիկայի հայկական համագումար» կազմակերպության ղեկավար անդամների, «Հայ դատի» գրասենյակի և ԱՄՆ արևելյան ափի ՀՅԴ ղեկավարության հետ: Ինչպես Արմենպրեսին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության եւ տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, Հանրապետության Նախագահը ողջունել և կարևորել է համահայկական նշանակության հարցերով Միացյալ Նահանգներում մշտապես զբաղվող հայկական կազմակերպությունների գործունեությունը, բարձր գնահատել նրանց դերը նաև հայ-ամերիկյան հարաբերությունների զարգացման և ամրապնդման գործում, քննարկել վերոնշյալ կազմակերպությունների ընթացիկ գործունեությանը, նաև դրանց հեռանկարին վերաբերող հարցեր` նկատի առնելով արագ փոփոխվող աշխարհում ի հայտ եկող նոր իրողություններն ու մարտահրավերները, որոնք պահանջում են նորովի, համարժեք մոտեցումներ ու գոր ծողություններ:

Սերժ Սարգսյանը ներկայացրել է ԱՄՆ իր աշխատանքային այցի ընթացքում ունեցած հանդիպումներն ու ՄԱԿ-ի Գլխավոր վեհաժողովի 70-րդ նստաշրջանում ունեցած ելույթի հիմնական շեշտադրումները, Ադրբեջանի կողմից հատկապես վերջին օրերին հրադադարի խախտման հետևանքով հայ-ադրբեջանական սահմանին և Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հետ շփման գծում առաջացած լարված իրավիճակը, նաև պատասխանել հանդիպման մասնակիցներին հետաքրքրող հարցերին:

Վերոնշյալ հանդիպումների ժամանակ անդրադարձ է եղել Մերձավոր Արևելքում տիրող իրավիճակին: Հայկական կազմակերպությունների ներկայացուցիչները շնորհակալություն են հայտնել Հանրապետության Նախագահին` սիրիահայության աջակցության խնդիրների լուծումը պետական հոգածության ներքո պահելու, Հայաստանում մեր հայրենակիցներին ապաստան տալու, նաև Սիրիայում նրանց հնարվորինս աջակցություն ցուցաբերելու համար:

Սեպտեմբերի 30-ի երեկոյան Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը ԱՄՆ-ում ՀՀ դեսպանությունում հանդիպում է ունեցել նաև ԱՄՆ հայկական համայնքի ներկայացուցիչների հետ:
