Ազգային ժողովի փոխնախագահ Էդուարդ Շարմազանովն արձագանքել է ՀՀ երկրորդ նախագահ Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանի հարցազրույցին, որում վերջինս քննադատել է սահմանադրական բարեփոխումների գործընթացը՝ ընդգծելով, որ դա շատ վտանգավոր է Հայաստանի ապագայի համար: Ազգային ժողովում լրագրողների հետ զրույցում Էդուրադ Շարմազանովը նկատեց, որ ցանկացած մարդ դժվարությամբ է հրաժարվում այն ամենից, ինչ ինքն է ստեղծել: &la quo;Երկրորդ նախագահի հարցազրույցն, իմ կարծիքով, ուներ անկյունաքար: Չի կարելի փոխել Սահմանադրությունը, որովհետև դա «արատավոր համակարգի »վերարտադրման գործիք է: Ուշադրություն դարձրեք «արատավոր համակարգի վերարտադրման գործիք»: Հետաքրքիր է` ի՞նչ խաղի կանոնների պայմաններում և երբ է առաջացել այդ «արատավոր համակարգը»: Հետաքրքիր է, ոչինչ չփոխելով` ինչպես պետք է վերանա այդ «արատավոր համակարգը», եթե դա իսկապես այդպես է: Բայց ասեմ, որ ես շատ լավ հասկանում եմ նաև երկրորդ նախագահի տեսակետի օբյեկտիվ հիմքերը: Ցանկացած մարդ դժվարո ւթյամբ է հրաժարվում այն ամենից, ինչ ինքն է ստեղծել: Սա շատ մարդկային և հասկանալի իրողություն է»,- Արմենպրես-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ ընդգծեց Շարմազանովը:

ԱԺ փոխնախագահը նշեց, որ  պետք է ընդունել նաև, որ կյանքն առաջ է ընթանում, աշխարհն արագ է փոխվում, և եվրոպական ոչ մեծ երկրների  կառավարման համակարգերը լիովին ապացուցել են իրենց կենսունակությունը: «Տեղում դոփել անկարելի է. ես այդպիսի ապագա իմ երկրին չեմ ցանկանում»,- հավելեց Շարմազանովը:

ՀՀ երկրորդ նախագահի մեկ հարցից բաղկացած հարցազրույցից հետո Շարմազանովը կրկին վերընթերցել է Վենետիկի հանձնաժողովի եզրակացությունը ՀՀ-ում սահմանադրական բարեփոխումների նախագծի վերաբերյալ: Նա շեշտել է, որ հանձնաժողովի եզրակացության մեջ վերամբարձ բառեր չկային, կար միայն ժամանակակից դինամիկ երկրների տեսլական, որին հասնելու ճանապարհին բարձր է գնահատվում արված աշխատանքը:

«Իմ տեսակետը չի փոխվել. սահմանադրական փոփոխությունների որևէ անհրաժեշտություն չկա: Այն էլ այսպիսի՝ արմատական բնույթի: Երկրի առջև ծառացած բոլոր խնդիրներն ու մարտահրավերները լիովին լուծելի են գործող սահմանադրության շրջանակներում, որի ֆունկցիոնալությունը որևէ մեկը կասկածի տակ չի առնում»,-իր հարցազրույցում նշել էր Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանը:
