ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը հոկտեմբերի 8-ին ընդունել է «Ժողովրդավարություն՝ իրավունքի միջոցով» եվրոպական հանձնաժողովի (Վենետիկի հանձնաժողով) նախագահ Ջիանի Բուքիքիոյին, ով Հայաստան է ժամանել ՀՀ Սահմանադրական դատարանի կողմից հրավիրված միջազգային խորհրդաժողովին մասնակցելու առիթով:

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, Հանրապետության Նախագահը ողջունել է հյուրին և գոհունակությամբ արձանագրել, որ պարոն Բուքիքիոյի գլխավորած հանձնաժողովի հետ երկար տարիների պատմություն ունեցող արդյունավետ համագործակցությունը օգտակար է եղել Հայաստանի համար:

Սերժ Սարգսյանը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Վենետիկի հանձնաժողովի այն անդամներին, ովքեր Հայաստանի Հանրապետության Սահմանադրության փոփոխությունների նախագծի մշակման գործընթացում համագործակցել և բարձրորակ մասնագիտական օժանդակություն են ցուցաբերել Հայաստանի Հանրապետության Նախագահին առընթեր սահմանադրական բարեփոխումների մասնագիտական հանձնաժողովին: Այդ համատեղ աշխատանքի արդյունքում մշակված փաստաթուղթն օրեր առաջ արժանացել է նաև Ազգային ժողովի հավանությանը: Նախագահը կարևորել է պարոն Բուքիքիոյի այն ուղերձները, որոնք Սահմանադրության փոփոխությունների նախագծի խորհրդարանական քննարկումների կապակցությամբ հասցեագրվել էին Ազգային ժողովին:

Ջիանի Բուքիքիոն ևս բարձր է գնահատել Հայաստանի հետ ձևավորված համագործակցությունը և ընդգծել, որ Վենետիկի հանձնաժողովի, որպես չեզոք, անկողմնակալ, ոչ քաղաքական մարմնի, միակ խնդիրն իրական ժողովրդավարության ապահովումն է: Նա նաև հույս է հայտնել, որ հանրաքվեի անցկացման գործընթացը կլինի ազատ, արդար ու թափանցիկ, և դրա արդյունքում ընդունված փաստաթուղթը մեծ քայլ կլինի ժողովրդավարության հետագա զարգացման ուղղությամբ:

Հանդիպման ընթացքում զրուցակիցները քննարկել են սահմանադրական բարեփոխումների գործընթացի հետագա քայլերին վերաբերող այլ հարցեր:
