Իտալիան սիրիական ճգնաժամի հենց սկզբից համոզված էր, որ երկրի նախագահ Բաշար ալ Ասադին հնարավոր չէ իշխանությունից հեռացնել օդային հարվածների միջոցով:

Ինչպես հաղորդում է ՏԱՍՍ գործակալությունը, այս մասին Corriere della Sera թերթին տված հարցազրույցում հայտարարել է Իտալիայի ԱԳ նախարար Պաոլո Ջենտիլոնին:

Նրա խոսքով, չի կարելի թույլ տալ, որպեսզի նա հեռանա` թողնելով դատարկություն, որն անմիջապես կօգտագործեն ահաբեկիչները: «Խնդիրը հասկանալն է, թե Ասադին, որ փուլում է հնարավոր հեռացնել»,- նշել է Ջենտիլոնին:

Ռուսաստանի վերաբերյալ նա հույս է հայտնել, որ պատժամիջոցները ուկրաինական ճգնաժամի հետ կապված, հնարավոր կլինի չեղյալ համարել:

Նախարարը նաև լուրջ խնդիր է համարել Լիբիայում տիրող իրավիճակը` նշելով. «Մենք չենք թաքցնում, որ ավելի շատ ենք մտահոգված Լիբիայի, քան Սիրիայի խնդիրներով»:
