28-ամյա Նովակ Ջոկովիչն արդեն 171-րդ շաբաթն է` գլխավորում է ATP-ի վարկանիշային աղյուսակը: Այս ցուցանիշով սերբ թենիսիստը գերազանցել է լեգենդար Ջոն Մակինրոյին և այժմ զիջում է 4 թենիսիստի: Ջոկովիչից շատ առաջին ռակետի կարգավիճակում եղել են Ջիմի Քոնորսը (268 շաբաթ), Իվան Լենդլը (270), Պիտ Սամպրասը (286) և Ռոջեր Ֆեդերերը (302):

ATP-ի պաշտոնական կայքին տված հարցազրույցում Մակինրոյը հիացմունքով է խոսել Ջոկովիչի մասին:

-Երբ ես առաջին ռակետ էի, մի շատ կոպիտ սխալ թույլ տվեցի` բարձրից էի նայում մրցակիցներիս: Պետք է ինձանով զբաղվեի` ուշադրություն չդարձնելով մրցակիցներիս, ավելի շատ աշխատեի: Վարկանիշային աղյուսակի առաջին հորիզոնականը կարող է կեղծ ապահովության զգացողություն հաղորդել, թե դու կարող ես ցանկացած պահի ավելի լավ խաղալ, բայց իրականում այդպես չէ: Լինելով առաջինը` չի կարելի է կանգ առնել:

Դրա համար ես շատ եմ հարգում Նովակին, նա ձգտում է ավելի լավ խաղալ: Այս մրցաշրջանում նա ավելի ագրեսիվ էր ընդունումների ժամանակ և ձգտում էր առջևում խաղալ: Դա շատ է օգնում Նադալի կամ Ֆեդերերի նման մրցակիցների հետ պայքարում:

Նովակի կատարմամբ շատ հիանալի խաղեր էի տեսել, բայց դեռ չէի տեսել նման բարձր մակարդակ և կայունություն: Սա նրա պրոֆեսիոնալ կարիերայի հրաշալի մրցաշարջաններից մեկն էր,-ասել է Մակինրոյը:
