ՄԱԿ-ի համալսարանի գիտնականներն առաջարկում են չորացված աղտեղությունները եւ մարդկանց կղանքները որպես վառելիքի գլխավոր աղբյուր օգտագործել տները տաքացնելու համար, ինչն աշխարհին թույլ կտա տարեկան տնտեսել շուրջ 10 մլրդ դոլար:

Այդ մասին ասված Է հաշվետվության մեջ, որը հրապարակվել Է Միավորված ազգերի կազմակերպության կայքում:

«Մենք արդեն կարողանում ենք մարդկանց կղանքներից ստացված նուտրիենտներն օգտագործել հողամշակության մեջ, բայց գրեթե չենք մտածել դրանԷ Էներգետիկական ներուժն օգտագործելու հնարավորության մասին: Այս գաղափարի իրագործման ճանապարհին շատ խոչընդոտներ կան, բայց, ինչպես ցույց ենք տվել, մենք ունենք աղտեղություններից Էներգիա ստանալու միանգամայն հստակ ֆինանսական փաստարկ»,-հայտարարել Է Քրիս Մեթքալֆը՝ Կանադայի Տրենտի համալսարանից:

Մեթքալֆը եւ ՄԱԿ-ի համալսարանից նրա գործընկերները հետազոտություն են անցկացրել, որի շրջանակներում նրանք փորձել են գնահատել կղանքներն եւ աղտեղությունները վառելիքի վերածելու շահավետությունը տնտեսական տեսակետից: 

Այսօր, ՄԱԿ-ի վիճակագրության համաձայն՝ 2,4 միլիարդից ավելի մարդիկ չունեն զուգարաններից եւ սանիտարա-տեխնիկական այլ շինություններից օգտվելու հնարավորություն, եւ նրանցից մոտավորապես 1 միլիարդը կարիքները հոգում են հենց փողոցում: Այդ մարդկանց մեծ մասն ապրում Է զարգացող երկրներում, հիմնականում՝ Հնդկաստանում: Դա ստեղծում Է հիգիենիկ եւ մանիտարական մեծաթիվ խնդիրներ, որոնց լուծման համար այդ երկրները պարզապես փող չունեն:

Հոդվածի հեղինակները կարծում են, որ այդ խնդրի լուծման համար ֆինանսավորման պոտենցիալ աղբյուր կարող Է դառնալ հենց խնդրո առարկան՝ աղտեղությունը: Նրանց հաշվարկները ցույց են տալիս, որ կղանքներից մանրԷների օգնությամբ միայն մեթանի եւ այրվող այլ գազերի ստացումը կարող Է աշխարհին բերել շուրջ 10 մլրդ դոլարի եկամուտ, ինչը Բրազիլիայում, Ինդոնեզիայում եւ զարգացող մյուս երկրներում կբավականացնի ավելի քան 140 միլիոն տների ջեռուցման եւ լուսավորման համար:

Գազի ստացումից հետո վերամշակված աղտեղությունների մնացորդներն Էլ կարելի Է օգտագործել. դրանք կբավականացնեն շուրջ 2 միլիոն տոննա ածխանման նյութի արտադրության համար, որի այրումը ջերմաԷլեկտրակայաններում եւ տնային վառարաններում թույլ կտա նվազեցնել անտառների հատման տեմպերը եւ դանդաղեցնել Երկրի ընդերքից ածխի արդյունահանումը:  

Երկու շաբաթից՝ նոյեմբերի 19-ին, Զուգարանի համաշխարհային օրն Է, որի շրջանակներում գիտնականները կփորձեն աշխարհի ղեկավարների ուշադրությունը հրավիրել այդ խնդրի եւ թափոնները եկամուտների աղբյուրի վերածելու հնարավորության վրա, հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
