Успешное выступление Марии Шараповой на итоговом турнире Женской теннисной ассоциации (WTA) настраивает на оптимизм в преддверии финала Кубка Федерации между сборными России и Чехии. Об этом ТАСС заявил президент Федерации тенниса России (ФТР) Шамиль Тарпищев.

На итоговом турнире, который завершился на прошлой неделе в Сингапуре, Шарапова проиграла в полуфинале чешке Петре Квитовой со счетом 3:6, 6:7 (3:7).

"Шарапова много времени пропустила из-за травм и давно не играла. Учитывая это, ее выступление в Сингапуре заслуживает положительных оценок. По качеству игры на итоговом турнире она выступила здорово, - сказал Тарпищев. - Игра Шараповой настраивает на оптимизм в преддверии Кубка Федерации. Но все равно, шансы на итоговую победу у России и Чехии 50 на 50. В финале ключевую роль будут играть нюансы. Кто из лидеров команд будет лучше выступать, тот добьется победы".

Финальный матч Кубка Федерации между сборными России и Чехии пройдет с 14 по 15 ноября в Праге. В состав российской команды, помимо Шараповой, вошли Екатерина Макарова, Анастасия Павлюченкова и Елена Веснина.

По словам Тарпищева, сборная России смогла собрать оптимальный состав на предстоящий финал. "Я, правда, сторонник того, чтобы Светлана Кузнецова тоже поехала в Чехию, чтобы в случае чего - могла подстраховать. Но решать будет капитан команды - Настя Мыскина", - сказал президент ФТР.
