Մելը նոր էր մայրիկ դարձել և անհամբերությամբ սպասում էր անձնական մարզչի հետ հանդիպմանը: Նա ցանկանում էր սկսել պարապմունքները, որպեսզի ավելի ուժեղ և համարձակ դառնար: Բայց առաջին հանդիպման ժամանակ մարզիչի ասած խոսքերը հիասթափեցրին նրան:

Երիտասարդ մայրիկը տուն գնաց պարապմունքից չարացած, դժգոհ և զայրացած: Այս դեպքը ստիպեց նրան մտածել այն մասին, թե ինչպիսի տեսք պետք է ունենան երիտասարդ մայրիկները, ինչպիսի մարմինն է ընդհանրապես համարվում «ճիշտ» ծննդաբերությունից հետո, և ընդհանրապես, ինքնագնահատականի և ինքնահարգանքի մասին: Իր գրառման հատ միասին Մելը հրապարակեց Facebook-ում նաև իր լուսանկարը՝ միայն ներքնազգեստով, հայելու առջև, որպեսզի բոլորը նրան տեսնեին: Նա չէր էլ պատկերացնում, որ իր գրառումն այդքան հայտնի կդառնա և կունենա այդպիսի մեծ աջակցություն շատ կանանց կողմից: Ահա թե ինչ էր նա գրել:

«Այսօր ես գնացի պարապմունքի՝ անձնական մարզիչի մոտ, և առաջին բանը, որ նա ինձ ասաց՝ հետևյալն էր.

«Դուք հավանաբար ուզում եք վերադարձնել ձեր՝ մինչև ծննդաբերությունն ունեցած քաշը»: Եվ դա ոչ թե հարց էր, այլ հաստատում:

Եվ դա ուղղակի ինձ զայրացրեց, հունից հանեց»:

«Ես քաղաքավարի ձևով ուղղեցի նրան, ասելով, որ իմ նպատակն է վերականգնել ուժերս և մարմնիս տոկունությունը… Ես ասացի, որ ինձ անհանգստացնում է ոչ այն, թե ինչպիսի տեսք ունի իմ մարմինը, այլ այն թե որքանով լավ է այն աշխատում:

Բայց նրա խոսքերը ստիպեցին ինձ մտածել: Ստացվում է, որ եթե ծննդաբերությունից հետո կինն արագ վերադառնում է իր սովորական չափսերին, ապա բոլորն ասում են, որ նա հիանալի տեսք ունի: Դա հանգեցնում է նրան, որ շատ կանայք նախօրոք համոզված են, որ իրենք վատ տեսք կունենան, եթե մի քանի ավելորդ կիլոգրամներ հավաքեն: Նիհար մարդկանց նախանձում են ճարպերի բացակայության պատճառով, կամ քննադատում են խիստ դիետաների համար: Թմբլիկ կանանց կամ միանգամից գիրուկ են անվանում և քննադատում, կամ էլ գովաբանում են քաջության համար, որ կարողանում են հարմարավետ ապրել այդպիսի մարմնով: Մենք միշտ ճնշման տակ ենք գտնվում»:

«Ոչ ոք չի կարող իրեն 100%-ով հարմարավետ զգալ: Մշտապես պիտակներ կպցնելը և այդ պիտակների հետ կապված սպասումների արդարացման փորձերը, արդյունքում վնասում է բոլորին… այդ թվում նաև նրանց ովքեր սովոր են այդպիսի պիտակներ վերագրել»:

Մի գուցե Մելը ճիշտ է, և ժամանակակից հասարակությունն իրոք ճնշում է մարդկանց կարծրատիպերով և պիտակներ կպցնելով:

Միգուցե հարկավոր է քիչ ուշադրություն դարձնել արտաքինի վրա, և ավելի շատ մտածել ներքնաշխարհի մասին…
