ՀՀ սփյուռքի նախարարությունն աշխատանք է տանում սիրիահայ Թեքեյան ընտանիքի անդամների ճակատագիրը պարզելու ուղղությամբ: 

Այս մասին նշեց Սփյուռքի նախարարության աշխատակազմի ղեկավար Ֆիրդուս Զաքարյանը:

«Այս ցավալի դեպքի առնչությամբ մենք չէինք կարող անտարբեր մնալ: Սփյուռքի նախարարություն ենք հրավիրել Հովհաննես Բաթրունյանին, որի քրոջ ընտանիքն է այս կորուսյալ ընտանիքը: Նրանք ապրում էին Լիբանանում, այնտեղից Թուրքիայի տարածքով հասել են Իզմիր, Իզմիրի մոտակայքից նավով փորձել են հասնել Հունաստան, և այնտեղից էլ գնալ Գերմանիա, որտեղ ապրում էր ընտանիքի աղջիկներից մեկը: Նավը սուզվել է, և բոլոր ուղևորները խեղդվել են, մի քանիսն են փրկվել, այդ թվում` Արինա Թեքեյանը` Թեքեյան ընտանիքի դուստրը: Այնտեղ Հովհաննեսի մայրն է եղել, քույրը, քրոջ ամու սինը և երկու երեխաները` Արինան և Վահանը` տասը տարեկան: Փաստորեն, միայն Արինան է փրկվել: Մյուս աղջնակը, որի անունը Սերլի է, Հայաստանում է` քեռու` Հովհաննեսի մոտ, այստեղ է սովորում»,-նշեց նա:

Ֆիրդուս Զաքարյանը տեղեկացրեց, որ Հովհաննես Բաթրունյանի խնդրանքով փորձում են մանրամասներ պարզել:

«Փորձում ենք ճշտել` փրկվածները կամ խեղդվածների դիակները որտե ՞ղ են, ա՞փ են հանել, թե՞ ոչ: Աշխատում ենք դրա վրա: Երկրորդ խնդիրն Արինայի հետագա ճակատագիրն է. մորաքույրն Իզմիրում է, փորձում է օգնել նրան: Կամ կգնան Գերմանիա, կամ կգան Հայաստան: Որոշումն իրենցն է: Ինչպիսի որոշում էլ կայացնեն` կաշխատենք օգնել: Ինչ վերաբերում է Սերլիին, նա այստեղ մասնավոր դպրոցում է սովորում, Սփյուռքի նախարարությունը կփորձի հոգալ նրա ուսման վարձը և հոգեբանական օգնություն ցույց տալ»,- շեշտեց նա:

Ավելի վաղ տեղեկատվություն էր տարածվել, որՍիրիայից Լիբանան, այնուհետև Թուրքիա ուղևորված կինը` Թալին Թեքեյանն ու նրա 10-ամյա որդին Թուրքիա-Հունաստան ծովային ճանապարհին մեկ շաբաթ առաջ անհետացել են: Նրանց հետ եղել են նաև ընտանիքի այլ անդամներ` Թալինի 19-ամյա դուստրը, ամուսինը և վերջինիս մայրը: 19-ամյա դուստրը` Արինա Թեքեյանը, Թուրքիայից Հունաստան գնացող լաստանավից նետվել է ջուրը և լողալուց հետո հասել Իզմիր:
