 «Իսլամական պետություն» ծայրահեղական խմբավորման դեմ պայքարի շրջանակներում ԱՄՆ-ի պաշտպանության նախարար Էշթոն Քարթերն ուղարկվել է Մերձավոր Արեւելք, պետքարտուղար Ջոն Քերին՝ Մոսկվա: Ինչպես տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, Միացյալ Նահանգների նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման այդ մասին հայտարարել է դեկտեմբերի 14-ին՝ ամփոփելով ԻՊ-ի դեմ պայքարի հարցերին նվիրված խորհրդակցության արդյունքները:

«Անհրաժեշտ է հասնել այն բանին, որ առաջընթացն ավելի արագ լինի,- ասել է Օբաման:- Միացյալ Նահանգներն արդեն ավելին Է անում այդ պայքարում, մեր դաշնակիցները՝ Ֆրանսիան, Գերմանիան, Մեծ Բրիտանիան, Ավստրալիան, Իտալիան, նույնպես ավելին են անում: Այդպես պետք է անեն նաեւ մյուսները»:

«Ուստի ես հանձնարարել եմ պաշտպանության նախարար Քարթերին՝ ուղեւորվել Մերձավոր Արեւելք… աշխատելու կոալիցիայի գծով մեր գործընկերների հետ, որպեսզի ավելի մեծ ռազմական ներդրման հասնենք ընդհանուր ջանքերում,- նշել է Օբաման:- Դիվանագիտական ճակատում պետքարտուղար Քերին վաղը գտնվելու է Ռուսաստանում, քանի որ մենք շարունակում ենք Վիեննայի գործընթացի շրջանակներում աշխատել Սիրիայում քաղաքացիական պատերազմի դադարեցման վրա»:

Պատմելով ԻՊ-ի դեմ պայքարի ընթացքի մասին, Օբաման մասնավորապես հայտնել է, որ ԱՄՆ-ի հատուկ նշանակության ուժերն արդեն ձեռնամուխ են եղել այդ երկրում գործողությունների իրականացմանը:

Ամերիկյան վարչակազմի ղեկավարը նաեւ հավաստիացրել է, որ Վաշինգտոնը եւ Անկարան միջոցներ են ձեռնարկում թուրք-սիրիական սահմանով ԻՊ-ի զինյալների եւ բեռների տեղաշարժին վերջ դնելու  համար:

Ընդհանուր առմամբ, Օբամայի խոսքով, ԻՊ-ի դեմ ռազմարշավը շարունակվում է եւ արդյունքներ է տալիս: «Սկսած անցած ամառվանից ԴԱԻՇ-ը ոչ մի հաջող ցամաքային գործողություն չի անցկացրել»,- ասել է նախագահը: Նա ճշտել է, որ Իրաքում ծայրահեղական խմբավորումը զրկվել է այն տարածքի 40 տոկոսից, որն ավելի վաղ իր հսկողության տակ էր պահում:

Օբաման նշել է, որ անցյալ տարվա օգոստոսից ԱՄՆ-ի օդուժն արդեն ավելի քան 9 հազար հարված է հասցրել ԻՊ-ի դիրքերին եւ շարունակում է ոչնչացնել հակառակորդի կենդանի ուժն ու տեխնիկան, ինչպես նաեւ նավթային ենթակառուցվածքի օբյեկտները, որոնք ծայրահեղականների կողմից օգտագործվում են իրենց գործունեության ֆինանսավորման համար, հաղորդել է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
