Քանի որ հոնքերի ձևը ամբողջ դեմքին տալիս է արտահայտչականություն, դրանք պետք է շտկել շատ զգուշորեն: Ձևը կախված է կնոջ ճաշակից և նորաձևությունից, բայց գոյություն ունեն կանոններ, որոնց պետք է հետևի յուրաքանչյուր կին: Միացած հոնքերը դեմքին տալիս են օպտիկական տեսակետից առավել նեղ տեսք, իսկ հեռու գտնվողները այն դարձնում են առավել լայն: Աղեղնաձև երկար հոնքերը դեմքին տալիս են առավել հասուն տեսք և առավել խիստ արտահայտություն, այն դեպքում, երբ առավել կարճ հոնքերը դրան տալիս են երիտասարդ տեսք: Շատ բարձր կեռ հոնքերը դեմքին տալիս են անբնական զարմացած տեսք, այն դեպքում, երբ ցածր, աչքերին մոտ հոնքերը տալիս են զայրացած տեսք:

Դեմքին ներդաշնակություն տալու համար անհրաժեշտ է նկատի ունենալ դեմքի ձևը: Կլոր դեմքին առավել սազական են ծայրը կեռ բարակ հոնքերը: Լայնաանկյունավոր դեմքի արտահայտությունը մեղմանում է, եթե հոնքերը այնքան էլ լայն չեն և վերջում թեթևակիորեն իջնում են ցած: Երկարավուն դեմքը ներդաշնակ է երևում առավել լայն և վերև կորացած հոնքերով: Օվալաձև դեմքին հարմար է հոնքերի առավել ուղիղ գիծը:

Հոնքերի ձևը մեծությամբ և ուրվապատկերով պետք է ներդաշնակվի նաև շրթունքների ձևի հետ: Բարակ շուրթերով բերանը չի ներդաշնակվում շատ լայն և խիտ հոնքերի հետ, ինչպես որ անհամապատասխան են նաև ուղիղ շուրթերը շատ կեռ հոնքերի հետ: Հոնքերի ուղղումը կախված է անձի ճաշակից, բայց պետք է խույս տալ չափից ավելի հրապուրվելուց, տարօրինակ, իսկ որոշ դեպքերում նաև ծիծաղելի տեսք ստանալուց խուսափելու համար: Եվ վերջում չմոռանանք, որ գեղեցկությունը զոհեր է պահանջում:
