Ըստ ՀՀ ազգային վիճակագրական ծառայության հրապարակած տվյալների 2016 թվականի հունվարի 1-ի դրությամբ Հայաստանի մշտական բնակչության թիվը կազմել է 2 մլն 998 հազար 600 մարդ: Իմիջայլոց սա այն դեպքն է, երբ ըստ պաշտոնական աղբյուրների, վերջին 35 տարիների ընթացքում ՀՀ բնակչությունը քանակը 3 միլիոնի շեմը չի հատում : Սա այն դեպքում, երբ 1979 թվականին Հայաստանի մշտական բնակչության թիվը եղել է 3 մլն 37 հազարից ավելի:


Հետանկախության տարիներից սկիզբ առած ու 2008 թվականից Հայաստանի բնակչության մեծ թափ ստացած արտագաղթը ոչ միայն չի դադարում, այլ նաև նույնիսկ պաշտոնական թվերով անընդհատ աճ է արձանագրում:

Նույն արտագաղթի պաշտոնական թվերը ըստ ԱՎԾ-ի անցած 2015 թվականի ընթացքում Հայաստանից հեռացել և չի վերադարձել 47 հազար 676 ՀՀ քաղաքացի:Համադրելով նախորդ տարիների պաշտոնական թվերը, կարելի է եզրակացնել, որ դրանցում դեռ նվազման տենդենցներ չեն արձանագրվում: Ըստ ԱՎԾ-ի նաև 2015թ.-ին 2014թ.-ի նկատմամբ գրանցվել է ծնելիության 3 տոկոսի նվազում:

Արձանագրված է աճ նաև մահացության առումով: Հետևությունը այստեղ միայն մեկն է, այն, որ Հայաստանի բնակչության նվազմանը նպաստող բոլոր տեսականորեն գոյության հնարավորություն ունեցող գործոնները առկա են մեր երկրում, և դա լուրջ մտահոգություն առարկա պետք է լինի պատասխանատու պետական բարձրաստիճան այրերի համար:
Եթե ԱՎԾ-ն է նման թվեր ներկայացնում, ապա կարող ենք վստահաբար կարծել, որ պատկերն ավելի մռայլ է, քան ներկայացվում է: Թվերի նման դինամիկան կարող է հանգեցնել ոչ այլ ինչի, քան ազգային ողբերգության :
