Հորատման սարքավորումների քանակն աշխարհում հունվարին նախորդ ամսվա համեմատ 78-ով նվազել է` հասնելով 1891-ի: Նավթի սպասարկման ոլորտում աշխատող Baker Hughes ընկերության տվյալներն է փոխանցում Rambler News Service–ը: Մեկ տարվա ընթացքում դրանց քանակը նվազել է 1418-ով (մոտավորապես 45 տոկոսով):

Հունվարյան կրճատման հիմնական մասը բաժին է ընկել ԱՄՆ –ին, որտեղ նավթահորերի քանակը նվազել է 60-ով, հասնելով 654-ի: Մեկ տարվա ընթացքում ԱՄՆ –ում նավթ արդյունահանող սարքավորումների թիվը կրճատվել է 1029-ով (ավելի քան 60 տոկոսով):

Կանադան այն սակավաթիվ երկրներից մեկն է, որտեղ նավթի արդյունահանման հզորությունն անցած ամսվա ընթացքում հակառակը՝ աճել է: Հյուսիսամերիկյան պետությունում հունվարի վերջի դրությամբ 192 հանքահոր էր գործում՝ 32-ով շատ, քան անցած տարի: Սակայն 2015 թ. հունվաի համեմատ դրանց թիվը նույնպես կրճատվել է գրեթե 50 տոկոսով:

Հորատման ծավալների զանգվածային կրճատման պատճառը նավթի գների անկումն է, որը շարունակվում է համաշխարհային շուկայում վերջին մեկուկես տարվա ընթացքում: 2014 թ. ամռանը նավթի գներն իջել են 105 դոլարից հասնելով 33 դոլարի մեկ տակառի համար, այսինքն ավելի քան եռակի:
