Wikileaks-ի հիմնադիր Ջուլիան Ասանժը Լոնդոնում Էկվադորի դեսպանատնից տեսակապով հանդես Է եկել լրագրողների առջեւ եւ հայտարարել, որ իր կալանավորման անօրինականության վերաբերյալ ՄԱԿ-ի  աշխատանքային խմբի որոշումը իրավաբանորեն պարտավորեցնող Է, տեղեկացնում է BBC-ն:

«ՄԱԿ-ն անցած գիշեր վճռեց, որ աշխատանքային խմբի որոշումն իրավաբանորեն պարտավորեցնող Է»,-ասել Է Ասանժը: Նա նաեւ ՄԱԿ-ի որոշումը գնահատել Է որպես նշանակալի հաղթանակ, որն ստիպեց իրեն ժպտալ:

ՄԱԿ-ի անօրինական ազատազրկման գծով աշխատանքային խումբը փետրվարի 4-ին հրապարակել Է զեկույց, որում ասված Է, որ Մեծ Բրիտանիան եւ Շվեդիան ապօրինաբար են Ասանժին հետապնդել 2010 թվականի դեկտեմբերից:

ՄԱԿ-ի փորձագետները պնդում են, որ Ասանժը պետք Է հնարավորություն ստանա անարգել հեռանալ Էկվադորի դեսպանատնից եւ իրավունք ունի փոխհատուցում ստանալ Մեծ Բրիտանիայի եւ Շվեդիայի իշխանություններից:

Մինչդեռ այս երկու երկրների իշխանություններն արդեն հայտարարել են, որ համաձայն չեն ՄԱԿ-ի փորձագետների եզրակացություններին:

Ասանժը գտնվում Է Լոնդոնում Էկվադորի դեսպանատանը, որտեղ նրան ապաստան են տրամադրել 2012 թվականին, որպեսզի օգնեն՝ խուսափելու 2010 թվականին երկու կանանց բռնաբարելու մեղադրանքով Շվեդիա արտահանձնումից: Բրիտանական ոստիկանությունը մտադիր Է ձերբակալել Ասանժին, եթե նա դուրս գա Էկվադորի դեսպանատնից:
