Անցյալ տարի շախմատի աշխահի 13-րդ չեմպիոն,հայազգի նշավավոր շախմատիստ Գարիի Կասպարովի նախաձեռնությամբ մեծ հաջողույամբ կազմակերպվեց 1 միլիոն 50հազար դոլար մրցանակային հիմնադրամով Grand Chess Tour մրցաշարքի բոլոր 3 գերմրցաշարեր, որոնց մասնակցում էին ՖԻԴԵ-ի դասակարգման ցուցակի 9 առաջատարներն ու 1-ական շախմատիստ էլ կազմակերպիչ երկրի կողմից:

Այս հեղինակավոր մրցաշարքում գերազանց հանդես եկավ հայկական շախմատի առաջատար ,այսօր աշխարհի չեմպիոնի կոչման 8 հավակնորդների մեկը հանդիսացող Լևոն Արոնյանն :Նա Grand Chess Tour-2015 –ում 3 գերմրցաշարերում՝Norway Chess 2015-ում(գրավեց ՝9-րդ տեղը), 2015 Sinquefield Cup-ում(գրավեց 1-ին տեղը), և London Chess Classic 2015-ում(գրավեց ՝ 4-րդ տեղը) 12մասնակիցների պայքարում ընդհանուր hաշվարկում ետ մնալով միայն աշխարհի գործող չեմպիոն, նորվեգացի Մագնուս Կառլսենից (26միավոր) և հոլանդացի գրոսմայստեր Անիշ Գրիից (23միավոր) իր ակտիվւոմ գրանցած 22 միավորով զբաղեցնեց պատվաբեր 3-րդ հորիզոնկանը:

Արոնյանն իրենից ետ թողեց համաշխարհային շախմատի այնպիսի աստղերի, ինչպիսիք են ՝ Վաշե Լագրավին (Ֆրանսիա),Նակամուրային (ԱՄՆ),Տոպալովին(Բուլղարիա), Գրիշչուկին(ՌԴ), Անադին (Հնդկաստան),Կարուանան (ԱՄՆ),Ադամա (Անգլիա), Համմեր (Նորվեգիա), Վեսլի Սոյի (ԱՄՆ):

Սակայն ֆինանսական խնդիրների պատճառով Grand Chess Tour-2016-ի կազմակերպումն այս տարի վտանգված էր : Մասնավորապես , արդեն հայտարարվել էր ,որ մրցաշարքի 1-ին մրցաշարը ՝Norway Chess 2016 չի անցկացվելու:

Եվ ահա երեկ ստուգատեսի կազմակերպիչները պաշտոնապես իրազեկել են, որ մրցաշարքը անցկացումը փրկելու ելք այնուամենայնիվ գտնվել է :

Հայտնի է դարձել ,որ նոր հովանավորների ՝ Colliers International France and Your Next MoveTM. Colliers International France օգնությամբ հունիսի 8-14-ը Փարիզում , իսկ Next Move (TM)-ի աջակցությամբ հունիսի 15-21-ը Բրյուսել –Լյովենում կանցկացվեն մրցաշարքի մեջ ներառնված արագ շախմատի և կայծակնային խաղի 150հազարական դոլար մրցանակային հիմնադրամով գերմրցաշարեր:

Իսկ արդեն մրցաշարքում ընդգրված300հազարական դոլար մրցանակային հիմնադրամով դասական շախմատի երկու գերմրցաշարերից առաջինը՝ Sinquefield Cup –ն օգոստոսի 19-ից մինչև սեպտեմբերի 2-ը կընթանա Սենթ Լուիսում (ԱՄՆ) , իսկ երկրորդը՝ London Chess Classic-ն էլ դեկտմբերի 7-19-ը Անգլիայի մայրաքաղաք Լոնդոնում:

Grand Chess Tour-2016 մրցաշարի ընդհանուր հաշվարկով հաղթողը բացի առանձին վերոհիշյալ գերմրցաշարում վաստակած իր գումարներից զատ ,որպես բոնուս կստանա լրացուցիչ՝ 100հազար իսկ 2-րդ հորիզոնականը զբաղեցնողը՝ 50հազար դոլար պարգևավճար:

Իսկ մրցաշարքի մասնակցիները լինելու են նախորդ տարվա 3 մրցանակակիրները ՝ Մագնուս Կառլսենը, Անիշ Գիրիին ուԼևոն Արոնյանը ,որոնց կմիանան դասակարգման ցուցակում 2015թ ամենաբարձր միջին անհատական վարականիշներ ունեցած 5 շախմատիստներ , մեկ մասնակից կազմակիպիչների կողմից սպիտակ քարտով կմասնակցի, ու մեկ մասնակից էլ կներկայացնի տվյալ գերմրցաշարը կազմակեպվող երկիրը:
