Кандидат в президенты ФИФА: надо менять систему подачи заявок на ЧМ

Процесс подачи заявок на проведение чемпионатов мира должен проводиться в соответствии со строгими правилами, я хочу полностью пересмотреть процесс подачи заявок, заявил кандидат на пост главы ФИФА принц Иордании Али бин Аль-Хусейн.
 Кандидат на пост главы Международной федерации футбола (ФИФА) принц Иордании Али бин Аль-Хусейн намерен в случае своего избрания полностью пересмотреть систему подачи заявок на проведение чемпионатов мира, о чем заявил в четверг на пресс-конференции в Женеве.

Выборы главы ФИФА пройдут 26 февраля в Цюрихе. Кандидатами являются президент Азиатской конфедерации футбола (AFC) шейх Салман бин Ибрагима аль-Халифа, генеральный секретарь УЕФА Джанни Инфантино, бывший заместитель генерального секретаря ФИФА француз Жером Шампань, принц Иордании Али бин Аль-Хусейн и южноафриканец Токио Сексвале.

"Для меня важно чтобы процесс подачи заявок на проведение чемпионатов мира проводился как надо, в соответствии со строгими правилами, а также рекомендациями, которые приходят из команд в отношении мест их проведения, которые будут являться основным критерием для выбора нации, которая примет у себя турнир. И это то, что я хочу сделать — полностью пересмотреть процесс подачи заявок на проведение чемпионатов мира", — сказал Аль-Хусейн.

 

По его словам, необходимо быть приверженным идее пересмотра системы подачи заявок и вместе с этим подумать о расширении чемпионата мира "в принципах и технически, на поле". "Я вижу потенциал того, что это можно сделать. Но к этому надо подходить ответственно", — подчеркнул он.

Комментируя возможность отзыва решения о проведении чемпионата мира 2018 года у России, кандидат в президенты ФИФА подчеркнул, что "думает только о будущем" и не готов комментировать ситуацию до полной публикации отчета экс-главы следственной палаты комитета по этике ФИФА Майкла Гарсии, касающегося выборов стран-хозяек чемпионатов мира 2018 и 2022 годов, которыми стали Россия и Катар соответственно.

Чемпионат мира по футболу в 2018 году пройдет с 14 июня по 15 июля на 12 стадионах в 11 городах России: Москве, Санкт-Петербурге, Калининграде, Казани, Волгограде, Нижнем Новгороде, Самаре, Саранске, Екатеринбурге, Ростове-на-Дону и Сочи. Кубок конфедераций пройдет в четырех городах России 17 июня — 2 июля 2017 года.
