Տնտեսագետները Հայաստանի` մեկ միասնական արժութային համակարգի մաս դառնալը ներկայում անհավանական են համարում: 

Ինչպես տնտեսագետ Վահագն Խաչատրյանն է կարծում, Հայաստանի նման փոքր տնտեսությունների համար տեղական արժույթը փրկություն է, որի պայմաններում հնարավոր է օգտվել տնտեսությ ունը զարգացնելու հնարավորությունից: «Այնպիսի իրավիճակ է ստեղծվել համաշխարհային տնտեսությունում, որ նախկին պատկերացումները կիրառելի չեն: Դժվար է հասկանալ, թե արժի նոր արժույթ ունենալ, թե ոչ: Միգուցե պետք է սպասել, որ խաղաղվի այս իրավիճակը: Սա լրիվ նոր աշխարհ է, որը չկար 2008 թվականից առաջ ու նույնիսկ 2012-ին աշխարհն  այսպիսին չէր»,-ասաց Վահագն Խաչատրյանը Տնտեսական լրագրողների ակումբի հրավիրած մամուլի ասուլիսին:

Տնտեսագետ Վիլեն Խաչատրյանն էլ հղում կատարեց Օպտիմալ արժույթների տեսության հիմնադիր, Նոբելյան մրցանակակիր Ռոբերտ Մանդելի այն մոտեցմանը, որ աշխարհը հեշտ է կառավարել արժութային միություններով:

«Ըստ այդ տեսության, եթե եվրոն ստեղծվեց որպես դոլարին հակակշիռ, ապա Ասիական տարածաշրջանը արժույթի կարիք ունի, որն էլ հակակշիռ կլինի եվրոյին` ազիոն: Որպես նախաձեռնող դիտարկվում է Ղազախստանը»,-ասաց տնտեսագետը:

Նրա դիտարկմամբ` ցանկացած միություն իր զարգացման որոշակի փուլում գալիս է միասնական արժույթի ձևավորման գաղափարին, ինչը ԵԱՏՄ տարածքում երկու փուլով է իրականանալու: «Առաջին փուլով պետք է ընդգրկվեն Մաքսային միությունը ձևավորող երկրները` Ղազախստանը, Ռուսաստանն ու Բելառուսը, դրանից հետո միայն կընդգրկվեն նաև Հայաստանն ու Ղրղզստանը, եթե այդ միությանն այլ երկրներ միացած չլինեն մինչ 2025 թվականը: Առաջիկայում ենթադրել, որ Հայաստանը մինչ այս փուլերի իրագործումը, այլ արժութային համակարգի մեջ կլինի, հավանական չէ»,- նշեց նա:

Տնտեսագետի խոսքով` ԵԱՏՄ շրջանակներում ձևավորվելիք արժույթը չի կարող հակակշիռ լինել եվրոյին, եթե առկա չլինի Ռուսաստան-Չինաստան միությունը:
