Գալուստ Սահակյանն ամուսնացած է եւ ունի երկու որդի, հինգ թոռնիկ։

Նրա կինը Ժաննա Աղաբաբյանն է։Վերջինս Հանրապետական պատգամավոր Աշոտ Աղաբաբյանի քույրն է։

Գալուստ Սահակյանն ու իր կինը համադասարանցիներ էին.

«Նրանց դպրոցական սերն էր: Հայրս քրոջս Գալուստին չէր տալիս: Գրիգորիչը շատ աշխույժ տղերքից էր` բլատնոյ: Գրիգոր ձյաձյան 2 անգամ եկավ քրոջս ձեռքը խնդրելու, չտվեցին, հետո քույրերը եկան, որ բարձրակարգ մանկավարժներ են: Վերջում էլի Գրիգոր ձյաձյան եկավ եվ հայրիկիս հարցրեց, որ եթե տան մեծն իր համաձայնությունը տա, ինքը կհամաձայնի՞, ինչին հայրս ասաց՝ այո: Եվ երբ տատիկիցս հարցրեցին, տատս ասաց, թե «Գալուստից բացի, թոռանս ուրիշի չեմ տա»»,- պատմում է Աշոտ Աղաբաբյանը:

«Իմ ընտանիքը անընդհատ աշխատել է եւ աշխատելու է: Չարախոսները թող հասկանան, որ կարելի է եւ ընտանիքի դիրքերը ապահովել հալալ քրտինքով: Այնպես որ, Հայաստանը էն մութ երկիրը չի, որ Գալուստ Սահակյանը որոշակիորեն դիրքեր ունի, եւ դա նշանակում է պիտի օգտվի իր հնարավորություններից եւ թալանով զբաղվի: Ամեն ինչն էլ մանրամասն կարող են նայել, պեղել: Այնպես որ, նման խնդիր չկա: Առավել եւս, եթե մեծ հնարավորություններ ունենամ, նորից հալալ, արդար աշխատանքով ավելի շատ փող կունենամ եւ ավելի շատ մարդկանց կօգնեմ»,- իր ընտանիքի ֆինանսական միջոցների մասին ասում է ԱԺ նախագահը։գգ

Գալուստ Սահակյանի որդիները Տիգրան եւ Արման Սահակյաններն են։

Տիգրան Սահակյանը տարբեր ժամանակներում զբաղեցրել է ՀՀ պետական և ՀՀԿ կուսակցական պաշտոններ. այժմ զբաղեցնում է ՀՀ Առողջապահության նախարարի տեղակալի պաշտոնը։
