ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը մարտի 1-ին ընդունել է Եվրոպական միության արտաքին քաղաքականության և անվտանգության հարցերով բարձր ներկայացուցիչ, Եվրոպական հանձնաժողովի փոխնախագահ Ֆեդերիկա Մոգերինիին և նրա գլխավորած պատվիրակությանը:

Հանդիպմանը քննարկվել են ինչպես Հայաստան-Եվրամիություն երկկողմ հարաբերությունների օրակարգին, այդ թվում՝ առանձին ոլորտներում համագործակցությանը, այնպես էլ միջազգային արդի խնդիրներին, տարածաշրջանի զարգացումներին, մարտահրավերներին և հեռանկարին վերաբերող հարցեր:

Հանրապետության Նախագահը, կարևորելով ԵՄ հետ Հայաստանի հարաբերությունների խորացումը, որում, ըստ նրա, մեր երկիրը մեծապես շահագրգռված է, նշել է, որ բարձրաստիճան փոխայցելություններն այդ առումով լավ խթան են հանդիսանում և վկայում են փոխգործակցության զարգացման երկկողմ պատրաստակամության մասին:

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, ՀՀ Նախագահը և ԵՄ բարձր ներկայացուցիչը համակարծիք են եղել, որ 2015թ. մայիսին Ռիգայում կայացած Արևելյան գործընկերության 4-րդ գագաթնաժողովը կարևոր հանգրվան էր ՀՀ-ԵՄ հարաբերություններում, որի վրա հիմնվելով կողմերը շարունակում են համագործակցությունը։ Նրանք կարևոր են համարել, որ այդ առումով Ռիգայում վերահաստատվեց Հայաստանի և ԵՄ միջև առկա ընդհանուր ըմբռնումն ապագա հա մաձայնագրի շրջանակի վերաբերյալ` ուղղված փոխադարձ հետաքրքրություն ներկայացնող բոլոր ոլորտներում համապարփակ համագործակցության հետագա զարգացմանը և ամրապնդմանը:

Սերժ Սարգսյանը գոհունակությամբ է նշել Ֆեդերիկա Մոգերինիի մասնակցությամբ տարեվերջին Բրյուսելում տրված Հայաստան-Եվրամիություն նոր համապարփակ իրավական փաստաթղթի շուրջ բանակցությունների մեկնարկի մասին և հույս հայտնել, որ դրանք կշարունակվեն բնականոն հունով, ու տեսանելի ապագայում կողմերը հաջողությամբ ավարտին կհասցնեն այս կարևոր գործընթացը:

Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանն անդրադարձել է Հայաստանում իրականացվող լայնածավալ բարեփոխումներին, այդ թվում՝ անցած տարվա դեկտեմբերին կայացած սահմանադրական բարեփոխումներին: Նախագահն ընդգծել է, որ մեր երկիրը հաստատակամ է շարունակելու տարբեր ոլորտներում սկսված բարեփոխումները և բարձր է գնահատում դրանց իրականացման համար ԵՄ կողմից հատկացվող ֆինանսական փորձագիտական աջակցությունը:

Հանդիպմանն անդրադարձ է եղել նաև ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի շրջանակներում ԼՂ հիմնախնդրի լուծման բանակցային գործընթացին: Հանրապետության Նախագահը հյուրին ներկայացրել է այդ գործընթացում հայկական կողմի դիրքորոշումները, որոնք տարբեր առիթներով բազմիցս հրապարակվել են: Ֆեդերիկա Մոգերինին վերահաստատել է այս խնդրում Եվրամիության դիրքորոշումը, ընդգծելով, որ ԵՄ-ն սատարում է ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբին՝ նրա առաքելության իրականացման գործում և պաշտպանում է բանակցությունների հիմքում ընկած երեք սկզբունքները՝ ժողովուրդների ինքնորոշման իրավունքի, ուժի կամ ուժի սպ առնալիքի չկիրառման և տարածքային ամբողջականության սկզբունքները:
