ՄԱԿ-ն անհանգստություն է հայտնել նախօրեին ԵՄ-ի եւ Թուրքիայի գագաթնաժողովի ընթացքում փախստականներին վերաբերող որոշման մի շարք դրույթների կապակցությամբ: Այդ մասին Ժնեւում հայտնել է ՄԱԿ-ի  Փախստականների հարցերով գերագույն հանձնակատարի վարչությունը  (ՓԳՀՎ):

«Մենք անհանգստացած ենք ցանկացած որոշմամբ, որը ներառում է մի երկրից դուրս եկած բոլոր մարդկանց վերադարձը մեկ ուրիշ երկիր, առանց կիրառելու փախստականների պաշտպանության սկզբունքները` միջազգային պարտավորություններին համապատասխան», - ասված է փաստաթղթում: ՓԳՀՎ-ում ընդգծում են, որ ապաստան խնդրողները  «պիտի պաշտպանված լինեն արտաքսումից», տեղեկացնում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը: 

ՓԳՀՎ-ի հայտարարության մեջ ողջունվում է «ցանկացած նախաձեռնություն, որն ուղղված է օրինական եղանակով նպաստելու երրորդ երկրների կողմից տարածաշրջանի բոլոր երկրներից փախստականների ընդունմանը` ոչ միայն Թուրքիայից եւ ոչ միայն սիրիացի փախստականների»: Միաժամանակ ՓԳՀՎ-ում ներկա պահին ԵՄ երկրների կողմից սիրիացի փախստականների տարաբնակեցման վերաբերյալ ձեռք բերված պարտավորությունները գնահատում են որպես   «պահանջարկի համեմատ շատ աննշան». ընդամենը 20 հազար տեղ` երկու տարով, կամավոր հիմունքներով:   

Բացի այդ, ՄԱԿ-ի գերագույն հանձնակատարի վարչությունը Եվրամիությանը հիշեցրել է  տարաբնակեցման հարցի լուծման ընթացքում իրենց ընտանիքների հետ վերամիավորվելու կարիք ունեցող մարդկանց պահանջմունքները հաշվի առնելու անհրաժեշտության մասին:  ՓԳՀՎ-ն հայտարարության մեջ ընդգծում է, որ մարտի   30-ին սիրիացի փախստականների տարաբնակեցման հարցով Ժնեւում նախատեսված բարձր մակարդակի հանդիպումը «լավ հնարավորություն կտա այդ կարեւոր կողմի քննարկման համար»:
